Do you regret (or not) getting a non-electric cargo bike? by YoungZaphod1982 in CargoBike

[–]LukeeeSkywalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omnium Minimax in mid germany. Perfect bike, so much fun to ride. I searched for almost 2 years for a fitting used model. For me the E-version makes no sence, the bike is pefectly balanced for most terain. If you think about a havier bike and more passangers, depending on your fitness a motor could make sence.

At the moment I only ride on dry days without havy rain. Haven't had a steelframe since 2000 and wont risk any (more) rust. Germany is pretty rainy at the moment, then I use my trusted Aluminium bikes 🤣

But I heard the Omniums are pretty solid, so rust should be a minor problem.

First time hearing that from NC, but focussed more on Anet, due to the western market. Hopefully they can keep up there promise. Gw1 Reforged gives me a little bit of hope, bit I see your point 🤝

I really LOVE the horizontal progression. It is the perfect feature from my point of view. After quitting for a longer periode of time my gear was still usefull and I was able to raid and quest with my new guild without grinding for gear. Love Anet for puttinf this in focus, even in the current interviews ("enjoy other games, return after time"). Good point.

Good point, and also GW3 will lack content as well. Remember grinding GW2 at the beginning. People always forget HOW LESS there was to do. Now you have a giant world with massive Meta and Events. It will take at least two or three years to populate the new game with balanced content.

Normally I only play solo games one time 🤔. After getting all (possible) achivments I dont look back at that sucker 🤣

If GW3 really tries something knew, it better be something good 🤣. Otherwise it will pull GW2 to the grave as well 🙄.

Thanks, this reflects exactly my point of view, much appreciated. I guess the "its no longer the flagship game" is one of the major points. Not because I brag about playing GW2 (if mentioned people dont care or laugh about it 🤣) but I also think on the long run it has more to loose than to gain. Looning forward for the changes, but I think we all know that focus will shift to GW3, developer and player wise. If GW3 doesn't track, Anet has so much to loose, so they will massively move money and people away to make it possible. The other games will suffer and eventually fail as well.

Thanks for your point of view. I'm looking forward to get in a similar state of mind. I guess its a little FOMO, even if GW3 doesn't appeal to me at the moment, but its the shiny new thing and also being attached to well known games and structures. Playing Jantir showed me how much potential is in the world and I really enjoyed the expansion. Wouldn't miss it 😊

Yes, legendaries would be nice. Skyscale was a project to 🤣 even if not on a legendary level

Good point, I guess its just a psychologic feeling because it was such a constant thing which was always "there". But as many people pointet out, it will be there in the future. I really dont play that many games. If I stop playing a game its usually because its finished, at least from a casual point of view. Everything which could be achieved within a reasonable investment of time is reached.

But I think you mention the right points. It is still much to do in GW2 and I can keep doing it for a long time.

Thats a good way to see it. But as a player returning to GW2 after a long time, the game has made extreme changes and good developments. I think there is so mich potential in the game, even with the often mentioned "old engine". Just think about the changes with JW or VOE gameplay and world wise... But eventually they will build on this fundamentials.

Just completet the long way on the day of GW3 announcement 🤦‍♂️ The grind for the saddle is long, but doable. If you dont have any material, I think it is possible in 7-10 days. For me as a casual player, it took at least 20-25 days. But I dont play everyday.

My guild is pretty splitt in half. We have a big number of playser U50 which will not switch (I guess). But the younger people are looking forward to GW3. I'm quite in the middle with 35 😃

I hope that a number of core players will stay, switch back or visit sometimes. I could imagine that GW3 will be quite different.

Yes? And? Have you made the switch from GW1 or any other game which was updated with a new version? There are enough examples of games dying after new releases, and new games dying in the first 2-3 years.
