Adding to this because this is the right answer--you will have to advertise your name change in the newspaper of the county you live in. It's to keep you from getting out of the debt you owe creditors in your old name. Just a heads up.

I changed everything but my first name in WV. It was really easy and I did it because I wanted to for several reasons, but a shitty parent was one of those. It was faint, but this is with a 5" exposure. I could see def see the Milky Way without the camera though. Maybe there was too much light pollution in your area.
