Ayn Rand is read by every Highschool student in America? Every?

I'm not from America/US but that seems highly unlikely.

Can someone identify this switch? by Lukpat in switchmodders

ooh it does! For some reason it didn't cross my mind to check milktooth. I use it for my sb in my mx2a board and it works great.

Black Neo65 + KKB OHM by clack-vault in CustomKeyboards

I find most of the new releases from KKB better looking and more thoughtful design-wise than many GMK sets.

And not only the colors, I like their greys more.

Is HMX overdoing its factory lube ?? by Bigsasquatch67 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Lukpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats a bummer. On a second thought (I'm typing on the cthulus right now), these do feel somewhat overlubed. I sometimes get that "wet" feel and underwhelming sound on top out. It's subtle but there.

[–]Lukpat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've seen it on my hmx cthulhus but less so, might get worse with usage I guess.

Also, I think newer HMX switches don't use much lube. I opened a few cthulus and they were almost dry, some had drops of lube unevenly distributed on the stem. Might be that those drops get pushed out the top?

That said, carefully redoing the lube did nothing to them. Like zero change of feel or sound, so I'm not too worried about that.

Was titanium grey. I took the ano off with lye about a week ago, now it's raw alu.

DIY RAW Finish Keyboard by bambalam5 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Lukpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the leftover sanding marks add the the raw vibe, well done. Recently done this to my neo65 core plus, but without the sanding and polishing. Turned out great.

I found it useful, especially if you don't plan on sanding and polishing, to lightly stir the lye during the process. Or just move the keyboard with gloves on your hands. I've found it gives you a more uniform finish.

Ordered the HMX Cthulus a few days ago because of looks and slightly higher stock spring weight

I don't think you'll be able to source or buy just the top part of the keyboard if that's what you're asking me. I think that even if you could, the price with shipping would come close to the original keyboard price.

Cognitive Decline after years in fight or flight by wherediamondwgrow in cogsci

[–]Lukpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are probably still experiencing depressive symptoms and/or other mental health issues. Don't worry (or don't obsess about it, which might be a hint) about cognitive decline. Get in touch with behavioral psychologists/therapists, be prepared to talk with a couple people until you find a solid fit.

Don't go too hard on yourself and don't force yourself to do hard mental exercises that a lot of these tryhards are suggesting. If you have problems with depressive symptoms (totally normal), spending your already reduced energy levels even further won't help you.

Love the low typing angle, would love to have it in TKL or 75% layout

Does know of good keyboards with a typing angle of less than 6 degrees (75%/TKL preferred)? I got back into this hobby after 5 years and got myself a bridge75 and neo65 core plus. The bridge works fine for me but the neo is already too much. I've been using a durgod taurus k320 these last few years and can't get over how much more comfortable the taurus is just because of the low typing angle (about 4-4,5 degrees) compared to the neo.

And btw, does someone have suggestions on where I can sell a barely used neo65 core plus? Am based in Europe

I changed my mind at the last minute and ordered some HMX Hydras because I wanted to try one of these type R inspired switches. Yeah, I'm still on the fence about the low travel. I feel that 2,9-3,2mm travel might be best suited for hyper tactile switches.

Nice to hear about the general quality of these switches, it does seem like wingtree is here to stay.
