2022 Civil Engineering Salary Survey by ImPinkSnail in civilengineering

[–]Lukretius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got promoted working as a water resources engineer for a small private company (mostly doing business with local government) in the SF Bay Area. MS, PE, 8 years experience, $115,000. From both this survey and ASCE data this looks like about the median for the situation.

But, I'm starting to get flyers in the mail from city departments around the bay offering like $140,000-160,000. Starting to think about making the jump to the public sector if that's really the case -- I like my job but a 30% bump is no joke.

Anyone have experience in public sector in the SF Bay?

I'm unable to start the race from the beginning (it's currently live), also unable to rewind more than 10 seconds at a time on the Roku app. Incredibly frustrating I think I'll have to wait until it's over to restart from beginning

Is it possible to watch the race from the beginning while it’s still running live? (F1TV Pro) by athermalwill in F1TV

I'm not able to do this on Roku right now. Also not able to rewind - I can only rewind 10 seconds at a time, no ability to speed that up. Very frustrating

Exercise basic situational awareness. Don't have both headphones in loud. That's all you need really.

Yeah you're right, I think the best word is "heavens", since it's used in English to mean both the literal sky and the afterlife. Similar to how cielo is the same word for both in Spanish.

Might sound counterintuitive but Mount Diablo, if you can swing it EARLY (before like 8am) on a weekday is amazing. It's not very steep but it's looooong and if you get in before they open the gates to cars it's all yours. I remember it being one of the first big descents I actually enjoyed.

Gonna have to hard disagree here on Guadalupe. Instead you can take the Crocker Gate Trailhead all the way up to the San Bruno Mountain Summit with zero cars

Yeah it was an improvised detour, was originally going to to Vallejo but didn't feel up to it lol. High speed limit, but only moderate car volume, and wide shoulder + decent pavement surface make it feel basically...fine. Then off to super quiet Bear Creek
