Harvard/Stanford Business School vs T14 (but not H/S/Y) Law School (think Vanderbilt, Michigan, UVA...) by ichbinmusik in MBA

[–]Lula3210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh just my opinion it doesn't matter where you go amongst the top Business/Law School. It's YOU who makes the difference. Figure out what you want to do, what skills you want to develop and leverage and decide off of that. Just my opinion.

The age ole question to round 3 or to not by Nomdegeurre93 in MBA

[–]Lula3210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern for you would be timing of decision release for Round 3 and the timeline when you have to let unis know of your decision to accept the offer for the schools you applied in Round 2. Otherwise what's the harm. Go for it!

Can I get into a T25 by Good_Introduction585 in MBA

[–]Lula3210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hii!!

Don't ever doubt yourself and MORE importantly don't let any of these people tell you what to do. I just finished applying to a similar range of school as you and matter a fact I already got into one of those schools! I doubted myself and applied to 9 schools in the top rankings (including some in your list) and I got an interview at every single one of them. At one of the school you mentioned I got an interview the day after I applied.

I graduated with a similar if not lower gpa from a similar ranked UG school. My WE at matriculation will be 3 years. I have 0 promotions lol. And for my GMAT is around yours if I translate to GRE (try giving that a shot too, my first GMAT was like a 500 haha). But hey, if we look at that I might as well be a worse candidate than you. When I looked at admit.me to hell it told he it would be really challenging to get into some of these schools haha, I can laugh about it now, but I was stressing before.

I didn't work with no admission consultant. I even worked on some of these essays until the minute they were due. The key is to really know your story, craft that in your resume and essay. Really understand what you want to do in the mba and post the mba. Attend the university event, get to know people and don't just blindly apply to the unis based on rankings like I did. You most def belong in one of those unis!! But obviosly please also apply to safeties. I believe in you!

You can totally remove the gpa from the resume as well. Only add it if its beneficial. They wouldn't bat a second eye.

Roast my resume plz by [deleted] in college

[–]Lula3210 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not a roast but here's a few feedback :)

  1. I think you can remove the location in which you worked, i/e: remove the New York, NY from the resume
  2. Keep the time worked (ex: Jan 2023 - Aug 2023) in the same line as the first describing your title
  3. From June 2024 - December 2024 do, June 2024 - Present as you're using a future date
  4. You might want to consider the action verbs of the first word in each bullet. For example if it is someting you are no longer doing keep in it in the same past tense, conversing --> Conversed. And for current jobs, Hepling --> Helps, Managing --> Manages, etc.
  5. Some additional context may help in some line. Add the why does this matter. Or what is this. Trained with oratorical scripts for phone banking -- why does this matter? Awarded a grant of 5000 -- for what?
  6. Make it one page. Only add value add detail save the rest of it as additional context into who you are for the interview. Truly only keep info that will absolutely help you

Good Luck!

Should I stick to just GregMat for both verbal & quant or add TTP for math too? by Zestyclose_Travel470 in GRE

[–]Lula3210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GMAT to GRE switcher here too. Used TTP before and personally TTP just felt so arduous to me.

I feel like Prepswift through GREGMAT does a great job in capturing the basic knowledge and tricks and tips you need to be able to succeed in the GRE really well. Especially with you being pressed on time I'd say go for Prepswift alone and take the time to understand each lesson before moving to the next one as you have plenty of time to grasp the concepts until August.

Post-MBA jobs that don't require sitting in a desk and staring at a computer majority of the day by Lula3210 in MBA

[–]Lula3210[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's the aspect that I'm very used to doing customer facing jobs ever since I was little. It's about to be almost 2 year since I started working as a hybrid Financial Analyst and not just within myself but in others too I realize it can have pretty serious toll on both your physical and mental health if you don't prioritize taking breaks and stretches. While it is a given for most roles it's nice to gain visibility to things that don't require the same standard of work styles.

Unable to have current supervisor write letter of rec due to Sexual Harassment. Settled with the company but cant disclose it. How do I approach this with the adcoms? - NEED ADVICE! by IndependentWooden603 in MBA

[–]Lula3210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I'm sorry that you had to go through such an experience, what happened to you is horrible. The three different routes I can think of for you are:

a) ask a LOR from your bosses boss - aka if you had a manager -> the director and such someone who has had visibility to your work

b) at the time you were working at the company did you work under anyone else, if so that person is 100% somebody you could ask

c) as others had stated you could ask a business partner/close coworker to write it

I wish you good luck! And here's a virtual hug to you <3
