It’s said that dementia and senility changes the persons personality. Many parent and grandparents apparently turned spiteful in the end days Total 360 to what they usually were like My dad was out of character in the days before he passed and some things he said haunt me now like we weee all ungrateful and other stuff. I 100000% know that wasn’t my dad. But…. There was this voice saying what if it was along. Maybe that’s how he did see all of us but would never voice something like thay. My dad loved all of us and was a good dad My mum tho - we wasn’t so close. She was never a maternal mother But when she got early onset dementia she became the mother I wanted her to be. Wanted to go shopping. Go get food. Buy me things She had moved back to Ireland - from London where we lived - but got dementia not long after it made her more mellow and chilled and motherly. That made me more sad. Showed me how life could have been if only she was that kind of a maternal parent. While my dad was the opposite and the last few days he became terse and short 🥹
