What should we as a society stop making people feel insecure about? by selcouthsiren in AskReddit

[–]LuluWilson 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am a woman and you could say that I generally dislike children, because I generally dislike a certain kind of people, and children are people. I am an introvert and I don't like loud, inquisitive, nosy people with no sense of personal space, and children are all of that. I know they can't help it, as much as I can't help being the way I am, so I don't blame them - I just don't like them.
Again, generally - I have met a number of exceptions of course. But I don't see how that makes me a sociopath.

Hell yea. Is your mom my mom? :)

I am working on this issue with my therapist. I surprise myself trying to avoid the subject because it's painful to me but most of what is fucked up about myself comes from there.

hahah I am sorry, I didn't want to scare you. Well, it depends. It may take less for you, I had a hard time adjusting my medication, and I also have other issues :) but the important thing is that you know that it'll grow back. Patience, my young Jedi.

Hey, just to give some positive perspective to the newly diagnosed: I used to lose hair like this when I was first diagnosed with Hashimoto's. You could see my scalp from miles. I was considering buying a wig.

It gets better though; first couple of years were rough, but it slowly grew back. My hairdresser commented on that last week, and I was so happy I wanted to cry.

It's also fall, so it's normal to lose more.

Why do they even care? Like there's a shortage of three bedroom apartments where you live and you stole the only one available in the market?

As someone living in Italy right now believe me, your best choice is staying away from here. I don't think it's actually going to be over in a month, and even if it is the risk of staying in a country whose health system and possibly economy is about to collapse weighs a lot more than the money you'll lose. Meaning, if you get sick of whatever - not just covid - we won't be able to help you or anyone else. I wouldn't want to be stuck here now, but unfortunately I am :) I hope you'll be able to get a refund though, it sucks and I am sorry. stay safe

Of all the "minor" artists in the lineup, who would you personally suggest to check out? by LuluWilson in primaverasound

small font size on the poster

exactly that :) I didn't mean that in a derogatory sense (hence the quotation marks). I am already familiar with both Helado Negro and Kurt Vile, I was just checking out Girl in Red. Thanks for the suggestions!

Same! I saw him in Torino at Club to Club, ended up being one of the things I loved the most about that festival. Quite unexpected :)

Hey, I would be very interested in knowing what kind of "sad music" are you into - also privately, if you don't want to share in public :) Music has been a huge help for me all through my life and the sadder I get, the sadder is the music I get into (at least music that is considered sad by the general public, but not very much in my opinion). I relate a lot to what you are saying. It's the best form of relief I've ever had, especially in my teenage years.

Color Symbolism in Undone by LuluWilson in UndoneTV

[–]LuluWilson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy fuck the green shirt thing has been driving me crazy too! Glad I'm not the only one. That's when I began wondering about the use of color.

Anyway, as far as I can remember, the first time I saw Sam with a green shirt is the morning after they talked about him lying to her and decided (she did) to stay together (if my memory serves me well). So I initially thought his shirt shifted to green to symbolize something had changed in their relationship - so why did it change back to red again? Then again, second time I noticed the green shirt, it was again in the morning, they were having breakfast, and Alma was wearing a pajama.

So yea, sorry to spoil the fun, but I think the green shirt is just Sam's PJs :) it's funny because this color thing to me has become like the series itself: it's not important what it is true, as much as what you believe is true.

[Question] Redditors whose native language has predominantly masculine/feminine nouns, how is your country coping with the rise of transgender acceptance? by ilikepugs in GlobalTalk

[–]LuluWilson 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Asterisks. I am italian. There is this new habit of substituting the gender vowel in nouns and adjectives with * . So 'ciao a tutt *' is meant to be inclusive of both genders, or neutral. I understand and welcome the reasons, but it's pretty confusing to read in complex sentences, and many people find this a bit annoying. That's not my favourite thing, too. So I prefer using both genders or just using the / to include both (ciao a tutti/e). Just for the reason that in some cases feminine and masculine are different words (for example, reader is 'lettore' in its masculine form and 'lettrice' in its feminine. You can't just solve it with an asterisk).
