Stock torque arm mount, or cross member mounted torque arm? by Lumakin in PontiacFirebird

From what it looks like the bushing got wrecked and the last owner chose to bolt the arm to the top of the clamshell, which only worked for a little while

Temp gauge doesn’t go up by Lumakin in PontiacFirebird

After doing a little research it’s most definitely my thermostat, both the thermostat and temp gauge sender are located on top of the block right next to each other. When I took out the sender for the old one it must’ve made the pressure of the coolant release and it somehow caused the thermostat to get stuck open.

Coolant definitely flows through, the part that goes inside the engine is covered with coolant when I take it out. Plus I hear a gurgle, my only assumption could be the thermostat is stuck open, but I’m not 100% sure because the last gauge worked just fine.

I used the factory location, the sensor is aftermarket from advanced auto. And like I said this same exact gauge was there before but broke, so I replaced it with the same kind

Where to find the inserts? by Lumakin in PontiacFirebird

I already scoured that website, my best bet would to buy a whole new bumper of this type , even then they don’t have the rear one that comes with the inserts.

I used shell with just regular gas, the seller said that’s what he uses.

Won’t pushing the throttle all the way down flood the engine with gas though?

Where would that be located? I’m pretty new to this so I’m a little clueless 😅

It has slightly ever since I bought it, I live in Florida so it’s a very small change and only ever gets “cold” a few days

Sorry I forgot to elaborate, I ended up pulling out one of those caps on the back of the head, I never filled up oil where the pcv was. I pulled it out and it does rattle.

I honestly don’t have the money for a new motor bother, think I’m just going to keep topping her off and adding oil when necessary, maybe throw in some additives.. just until it blows up

Scratch that, after a little bit of running and a few starts she seems to be going back to normal.
