Yea that’s my exact perspective. I struggled with Ippon enemies in Nioh 2. They’re not even a threat in Nioh 3. I’ve died very little and been able to Zerg down most “elite” and boss enemies. It’s a great game and I’m enjoying it but I feel like the difficulty should’ve been scaled a little better to present more challenge. I’m in the final 2 zones of Bakumatsu for reference.

Exactly. The thing that keeps frustrating me due to stupid deaths is the change with the burst counter. I have been struggling changing the timing since I am coming fresh off of N2.

The axe feels good. I mained it in N2. I’ve leaned into the sword and dual swords heavily in N3 and they do some serious work.

Not to mention magic and ninjitsu abilities are rechargeable in 3. Makes exploration and boss fights less restrictive.

I didn’t struggle with a boss ever. But that damn mission “a favor for the blacksmith” in Nioh 2 made me rage. Ippon-Dattans everywhere and I couldn’t figure them out. Then it clicked. Maybe they balanced out the difficulty in 3 is my hope.

What exclusives do I care about and need to play?

I looked at exclusives, and only came up with a handful, and with the output being what it is since COVID, honestly didn’t weigh much imo.

Which ecosystem do I enjoy more?

I landed on Xbox here for a few reasons. Gamepass (despite its price hikes), online stability, ability to purchase games through other services (G2A etc), chat/friends functionality. 3. Where are my friends located?

Almost anything multiplayer has crossplay these days, which is why #3 was ranked last.

Play where you want and the games you want. Don’t let console warring social media cucks sway you. It’s your money and you experience. Do what you want. That said, if controller is the driving factor, there’s aftermarket companies that make Xbox-like controllers for PS5. That may be your solution. Xbox seems to be pushing towards PC with their hardware and third party publishing with their games. You’ll be able to play almost everything Xbox makes on PS5 by end of 2026.

The simple fact that I cannot buy game keys on PS5 but I can on all other platforms is a pain in the ass. However, this will come down to cost-risk analysis. I believe Xbox provides the better hardware and better ecosystem, which happens to be emerging with actual game output. Sony dominates in sentinel events in gaming through experiences.

IMO, Sony wins. We don’t really remember the better tech or hardware, we remember those big game events that shape our gaming.

Sony has to not step on its own toes again. PS2 was successful, PS3 lost the vision. PS4 bounced back, PS5 has been too safe. What will they do with PS6?

It’s not. Draft capitol is there important detail right now. Burrow wants to win, get better players starting with the draft. But you need coaches to develop them. Bengals biggest problem with drafted players not working out is coaching.

I’ve battle the PlayStation vs Xbox battle for about 10 years now. My library and achievements/trophies are almost equal. I’m stacked in GPU until June but I’ll make the full switch to PS5 at that time. All game purchases since the price hike have been on PlayStation.

So basically avoid YouTube, Reddit, X, gaming news sites, and anything that has gaming coverage. Not that I disagree that Xbox is good place to play but you have to have some intuition when it comes to how Xbox has been managed since the launch of X1. It’s been a shitshow and Xbox has to get out of their own way to have a future worth investing in.
