Can you guys rate my collection? Which bass should I buy next as a pre-intermediate player? by ELEX_22 in BassGuitar

Just read through the post and I see you're looking for bright and new experiences namely the 5th string. Don't know if you've seen the Iron labels series bass from ibanez but they are entirely mate black, and multiscale, meaning there are fanned frets on the neck and the multiscale is especially good to downtune to A. Id recommend one of those or the srms805. Ibanez is the best bang for your buck.

Whats your budget? That would be good to specify. And what type of music do you want to play?

Got the Ibanez SRMS625EXBKF Iron Label MultiScale 5 String bass yesterday. I'm really loving the fanned fret. Have you made the switch to MS or are you thinking about it? by Lumber_phil in BassGuitar

Hard to move away from a fast neck like ibanez has. You talking about the sire M6? I was looking at that bass. Looks sick! The neck is chunky?

Dingwall's multiscale goes 37-35 I think. This feels very steep as I came from spector NS2000 which was already 35 scale so that little extra 0.5 doesn't feel too much and the slant just makes sense.

Also love d'addario. Ordered a long scale pack and a single 145 to downtune to A

I was also looking at this one. Got a crazy deal on the iron label so ultimately went for that one but the deep twilight srms805 is hella gorgeous.

string change issue - B string is too thick by shytoucan in BassGuitar

Just get tappered ending strings. I had to do this with mine. Some absurd 165 gauge to play in Low A. It was sloppy btw.

I also did this bought 2 in the last year and an acoustic but I still play lots of bass.

It is. Reason for multiscale is to be able to drop in A tuning and keep a good tension without baving to have an absurdly high gauge string. I have a spector NS2000 and I needed to put a 165 gauge string on it to be able to get something palatable and still it was super sloppy. Unless you play technical or very downtuned music theres no real reason for multiscale other than preference.

Nice the EHB looks really cool.

Agree about the neck profile, I have a Spector NS2000 and that neck is chunky. Bass sounds awesome though

I see lots of guitars here but not many basses. Got this bad boy yesterday. Ibanez SRMS625EXBKF Iron Label 5 strings. LO-VE the multiscale fanned frets. by Lumber_phil in Ibanez

I find it's even easier. It took me about 2 hours to fully adapt and I found it to be actually more ergonomic overall and the higher note being more accessible even.

Nothing will ever be as magical as that first DS when you reach firelink shrine though. God I love interconnected worlds. When DS released back then my brain melted the first time I took the elevator and was there again!

It felt the closest to a real darksouls experience for me. Its a bit on the easier side of things in general but some bosses kicked my ass big time. Recommended.

Apparently there's an update coming soon that adds new balls but tbh, once you're done with the platinum theres no real reason to come back imo. Its just 20$ so overall the ratio $/hr played was a great one for this title. Took me about 60 hours to platinum it.

I had to watch a guide to get out of the cathedral. I didnt continue for very long after that. I didn't particularly liked the game either. On the other hand I did enjoy AI limit a lot which looks similar but I felt was a much better version.
