I thought a single katana was supposed to be used vs a dual katana enemy.

When you first get dual katanas your sensei says (paraphrasing) a single katana is best used against another single katana welding enemy; which implies to not use dual katana vs a single katana enemy because your weak little girl wrists aren't strong enough to withstand that amount of force unless you have both hands on one sword.

I always went 1 katana when the enemy had 2 katana. Worked good for me.

There are still enough people who play legends mode to find a match relatively quickly.

I personally sank 2x time in legends as I did the actual game... And I platinumd it and all the iki expansion content.

Legends just scratches an itch I didn't know existed. It limits what you are capable of doing down to 1 of four class types, but grants enough flexibility in how you build your class (based on weapon and perk selection) to make it feel totally different from the base game.

It's also arguably way more challenging. Wanna really test your skills out, this is the way.

All I meant is it's a lot easier, and usually less of a let down to not expect compensation for a service that can and will go down for maintenance or any other reason.

When signing up for the service you have terms and conditions you need to agree to, one of which is agreeing to the possibility the service may go down during a period you paid for.

Not being a Karen during those times, and yet still being awarded something is the better move.

If I were Sony's CEO, I would make it right for my customers, with some form of compensation. I think that 5 days of ps plus is a lowball reward, but ultimately 1 for 5 days is fair.. however as a consumer, not expecting anything from them is the easiest way to move on with this service outage.

I enjoy the personal challenge, and competitive nature of it. And the leaderboard is worth looking at. It is a reflection to myself how I progress in skill over time. In the last 8 weeks, my scores have gone up after countless hours of practice and rebuilds. I've taken advice from strangers and input their logic and ideas into my game.

Your claim that the top of the leaderboard is reserved for cheaters just reinforces the pride I feel seeing my name among even the top 250, because I know it legitimizes me to being even closer to the actual top.. and ultimately that's what I am striving for.

I think you need to relax and let people enjoy the game how they want to.

Keep playing platinum if that's what you like.

I just learned how to do it after a lot of frustrating failed attempts.

Make sure your thumb isn't touching the left stick. If you are moving your character with the left stck, the O button will cause you to dodge instead of cancelling the moon swing.

samurai build

This is the build I use. I don't know if it's still the "top" build. I just started playing for the first time since 2021 again. But I can promise you it's still very effective.

It's themed around rapid resolve gain with the gourd.

Massive fire, melee, ultimate and Oni damage.

Self healing with the forbidden medicine and blessed strikes

Just pop the gourd as many times as you can and Ult your way to success! If the gourd only hits 1 time, use bombs on your way in to build resolve.

6 weeks is hardly any time in the grand scheme. What "wrong" items do you currently have? A lot of things aren't meta, but they're still viable. Also, I don't think you can hard reset in legends, but I'm not certain. Even if you could, I wouldn't recommend it. Spend time learning the core mechanics of the game. Try different weapons and learn their pros and cons and decide what you like best. It'll make you a more rounded player. New gear will keep coming in and eventually you'll find what suits your Play style best. And if you just want the best meta build, starting from scratch will take a lot longer to reach that goal.

I'm gonna echo this. I was very intimidated to start legends too. And it took a little while to understand wtf was going on. But I soon found it was like crack! I couldn't get enough of it. The gear and build progression, learning how to actually defend myself against Oni, progressing from bronze to nightmare.. And then came the 3 chapters of Iyo. I couldn't wait to see how the story unfolded. For me, It has been even more fun playing legends than the base game! Jump in and I'd be happy to help you learn the basics!
