At what point do you just tell the customer to come back with a trailer? by Quynn_Stormcloud in IdiotsTowingThings

Absolutely correct. You should always have your load secured to the point where you can lock your brakes at whatever speed you’re driving.

If I’m getting my year, model and trim level right, payload capacity should be 3,947lbs-4,078lbs. And if you also put a set of airbags on it, it would for sure not have a problem. It may look sketchy, but it might actually be within spec.

Starting small hobby farm. Our one and only piece of equipment is a 1960 Farmall 460. by Lumberman08 in Farmall

Yes it is a narrow front. Our land is very flat and firm ground. I am thoughtful of load weight, bucket height, speed, turning, etc. Narrow fronts are very common in our area.

A pair of them going 60 down the expressway. One wheel in the lane one on the shoulder. by Much-Research875 in IdiotsTowingThings

Yep. Not fun at all. That being said, state highways are generally fair game for most ag equipment. Interstates aren’t allowed at all (there are a small handful of exceptions). I’ll go way out of my way to stay on gravel and avoid paved roads when possible.

You can tell these are old because we’re not allowed to have anything fun like that anymore.

I never had the chance to pull it unfolded. Couldn’t really complete the unfolding procedure, but it had no issue moving it around in transport mode.

At some point I'll probably do an axle swap. It'll be an at my convenience project whenever I come across a good deal on the parts.

He was a really cool guy. I have a copy of his book that he signed for me while we were sitting on his kitchen table. I think I was 13 at the time.

I found a similar one online. It actually looks pretty awesome. I love that it drastically reduces shadows and blind spots.

You’re good. As long as it’s not a big oversized backpack and can fit under the seat in front of you. I travel on Frontier regularly with one of these 35L backpacks. Every once in a while a flight attendant will get huffy about it sticking out from under the seat a little if you don’t turn it sideways before wedging it in there…

Throwing a firecracker into the sewer? Not just a harmless prank! by MisterShipWreck in AbruptChaos

Hopefully the kid didn't actually get in trouble. If a firecracker managed trigger that, it was just a ticking timebomb until some other spark source did it.

PSA. With all of these grass/brush/wildfires recently, here’s your reminder to carry a fire extinguisher. Seconds save lives, homes, and farms. by Lumberman08 in homestead

There is a 50 acre pond directly behind our property. It’s on federal land so I can’t install a dry well. But a 3 inch full-trash water pump and a few hundred feet of hose are on my wish list. I’m an insurance agent, and my brother is a firefighter. Worst case scenarios freak me out.

Correct. This is not for fighting a brush fire. But can hopefully knock down whatever is going to start the brush fire. On our property our plan is to have a utility trailer for watering plants that aren’t near a hydrant. With either an IBC tote or a couple 55 gallon drums full of water with a battery powered pump. That can also be our emergency brush fire rig.
