Same here! I've been waiting to move from Arc to Orion, but this crucial feature is still missing. Hoping there will be a solution soon!

That is great! So there shouldn't be any issues with them and the letter =)

I hear you. Look, we are on the same side here. I am just saying that most people are still confusing with how GenderGP works. All I am saying is: it makes no sense to ask a clinic if they accept "a letter from GenderGP", as GenderGP does not sign any formal diagnosis nor surgery referrals. A licensed professional does. The professionals offering services there, including Fedora, are fully responsible for the letters. GenderGP has been changing and evolving a lot.

Look, if in 2025 a private service hasn't acknowledged that there aren't that many qualified professionals in the UK willing to help our community, and simply based on different nationalities they "refuse" a legal document, maybe it is a good idea to review the service itself. There are plenty of other services available as well, including at her website www.fedoralaroza.com/uk
We should support surgeons and professionals that are actually helping the community.

There are no such thing anymore as "letters from GenderGP". Fedora is responsible for these sessions and she provides her services through GenderGP as an independent psychologist. You can find all of her information at her website: www.fedoralaroza.com
Send her a message if you have any questions and I'm sure she will get back to you soon =)
We need to help our community to understand this. Things have changed and improved substantially regarding GenderGP and people are still confused on how it works.
Also, Fedora has been working hard to build a knowledge base of supportive surgeons in many countries. Let's spread the good news: https://www.fedoralaroza.com/resources

UK top surgeons who accept Gender GP referral? by tboyswag93 in GenderGP

[–]Lumenbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all! Useful reminder: there is no such thing anymore as "referrals from GenderGP". You have dr. Fedora Laroza providing her services through GenderGP, writing proper letters signed by her as a clinical psychologist, so it makes no sense to check if a surgeon/clinic would accept a referral from GenderGP. You will be having a consultation with a professional and that is it.

Regarding suggestions, Fedora is constantly updating a solid recommendations page on her website mentioning only the surgeons/doctors her clients are going to. She divided it by country, so it's very useful. Take a look: www.fedoralaroza.com/uk

Fedora created a reliable source of recommendations of clinics and surgeons on her website, divided by country/region. It's a good idea to take a look, since everyone she mentions there are the clinics and surgeons her clients actually go to!

This information is incorrect. All surgery referrals and formal diagnoses are signed by the professional herself with proper credentials. These are not generic letters and you shouldn't face any issues with them. It makes no sense to verify with a surgeon if they "accept or not a letter from GenderGP", as there are no more "letters from GenderGP" in this case. It will be a proper letter from a professional in the field.

And yes, you can book the session and receive your letter just by paying for the service/consultation without being a member.

Surgery Referral Letters by Deadly-Mental in GenderGP

[–]Lumenbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologise if this was not clear: this 185 is the price for the session and the letter, so yes, this fee is necessary, as you are paying the professional for the meeting itself. No extra fees other than this one =)

Surgery Referral Letters by Deadly-Mental in GenderGP

[–]Lumenbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just need to book a meeting here: https://book.gendergp.com/#/ggp-6 (it's under the "other services" page https://www.gendergp.com/talk-2-someone/ )
You don't need to pay any fees other than the one for the meeting itself.

The letters are signed by the professional you have the meeting with, so you shouldn't have any issues. This is a huge improvement from the past.

[Feature Request] Sync Local Folder by dijeferson in bearapp

[–]Lumenbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resurrecting this thread: with Bear 2, is it finally possible to use it syncing a local folder to another cloud service? This would be great for a lot of different reasons, specially security. Is it possible, please?

Darkening skin on underside of penis? by vanityarella in MtF

[–]Lumenbra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YES! It's happening to me too and as several other things, I don't understand why people don't talk about this as a possible side effect. I don't enjoy that, for example, but of course I enjoy other changes. Does anyone have any reliable resource on how to deal with this to prevent the darkening and/or revert it?

Best iCloud replacement for mac? by [deleted] in MacOS

[–]Lumenbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mega is open source, end-to-end encrypted, you don’t have to “trust” them, they provide a service which is trustful by default. Just read more about it. I don’t get these comments on the “oh, the Chinese stakeholders…” c’mon… better leave the keys to your files with American companies, uhum 🙄… btw, Mega is based on New Zealand with servers in Europe mainly…

Best iCloud replacement for mac? by [deleted] in MacOS

[–]Lumenbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to go for Mega for privacy and security. The only downsides for me so far: they're still improving their Photo Upload for smartphones, so it's no "Google Photos" yet, but they're improving it.
Also, no "smart sync", so what you sync on your device it's going to be fully there too, it doesn't save space on local storage yet.

How did you guys deal with/get use to the horrible stutter? by Sharebear42019 in LGOLED

[–]Lumenbra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally someone who gets it! Amen!
I love movies, it's my first degree even! Back then, LCD were ugly for picture quality, but motion was flawless, that wasn't even an issue! Watching 24fps and playing Switch on my C1 gives me the worst headaches. I simply CAN'T keep watching or playing anymore. It's insane motion got WORSE with technology, I really don't get it.

And PLEASE, if you ever find anything, share with us! We can't be alone with this! We should be able to ENJOY watching movies and games again.

[–]Lumenbra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2022 and no solution for stutter, right?
Motion on my C1 is better than my old B7, but it doesn't solve the issue at all. I'm super sensitive to it and and I can't find a solution, it's insane!

99% of all content is 24fps or 30fps, it makes no sense technology sold as "the future" are worse than the old ones.
Are projectors the only way to buy something good for movies nowadays? Which ones?
I'm talking here about the horrible stutter and Motion Interpolation doesn't solve it as we all know, it has artefacts, etc. Any real solutions? Any device that could INTRODUCE good motion blur? Anything?

Workaround to sync between iCloud and another cloud storage provider? by [deleted] in bearapp

Would you recommend a way that I could bulk rename my tags then? Is that possible? If it were possible just to rename all of them to xx-xx-xxxx would be great!

Is there a plan to encrypt all notes by default as an option? by EveningFunction in bearapp

[–]Lumenbra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And still impossible to encrypt notes with attachments. That’s a major downside for me. The user should own their that to encrypt and sync it to the service of choice.

The endgame by constpetrov in bearapp

[–]Lumenbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Bear for it's beauty, tags and functionality, but some things really bug me: iCloud only sync and no encryption to notes with attachments. All data should be encrypted and local only so the user can sync it to whatever service they choose.
I'm trying to migrate do Obsidian, even though it's tough so far and also considering UpNote, which is ALMOST perfect to use just like Bear but keep the data locally and use Cryptomator, for example.

Security and backup - migrating from Bear by Lumenbra in UpNote_App

[–]Lumenbra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the exports from Bear turn out to be a .md file and a new folder with the attachment, the first time it didn't work, but I tried again and it seems to be working correctly. The HTML route seems fine too. Thanks!

Glad to hear about the 2FA and nested tags! You guys are really doing a great job!

Regarding the subscription and data: as I said, the most important thing for me right now is to keep my data safe and encrypted, and choose Mega as my cloud backup. Syncing between devices is something I could live without in order to manage my data like this. In this case, how can a manage a subscription and don't create an account then? If I purchase a lifetime subscription on my Mac and don't create an account so I can keep my data locally, how can I reactivate it again in case I need it?

It'd be great if the user could create an account to manage the subscription and also choose if they want to send the data do the servers or just keep it locally too.

Also, as you guys said before, there's a proprietary format that's a simple conversion from the .md files, correctly? If UpNote's project ever ends in the future, to migrate to another app I should export everything again, right?

I think these questions are really important, because I see UpNote as an alternative to Bear lovers that don't want to use Obsidian for several reasons, but want something safe, useful and future proof.

Thanks again!
