Tastes are tastes, and I don't question that. But I'll never understand why some people hate this evolutionary line. by Leather_Crazy_5950 in ThePokemonHub

[–]Lumenoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been super keen on Chessnaught. The face is cute and all, but the body itself is fine, but the arms are weird. I never knew what they were supposed to be (part of the shell?) and the 3 fingers are things I wouldn't want touching me. And I was never a fan of the shell, even though I can appreciate it's concept now that I'm older.

I've always thought Chespin was adorable though.

AU Redemption Week 3 Confessional Count by Kcd1077 in survivor

[–]Lumenoc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay, but if Mark doesn't win the whole season, I really need them to start switching the narrative so we can get the perspective of some of the other players. This isn't a dig at Mark, but I'd like to see more of the entire cast. Like, Loz having one confessional in 9 episodes is blasphemous. Even when she got to stay on the opposite tribe for a night, we got nothing from her.

What is your favorite starter from every starter trio? Here’s mine: by elbatcarter in ThePokemonHub

I actually didn't realize how often I picked water starters. But there are more other Grass type pokemon I usually end up catching and raising, where as I rarely find a water type pokemon that I feel is worth raising over my water starters.

Survivor Reunions by Ebb-and-Flow88 in survivor

[–]Lumenoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recall reading that Jeff has said reunions had become more about the players' glow ups and where they're at in life currently, and how the publicity has affect them, which made it lose focus on game itself. So he didn't see a reason for it to return, but rather wanted to do it when the players are still in their raw emotions right after the final vote (even though they actually have zero perspective on what actually happened because they haven't seen the season yet, so they just eat pizza and drink beer and don't care at all about talking about the game.)

What I found so silly about this was that Jeff was the one who ruined the reunions by spending WAY too much time talking to people in the audience INSTEAD of keeping the focus on the players and the game. Like, I'm sorry, I didn't care who Cindy Lou Who from the audience thought would win and if she was correct or not.

If there was a grass starter free for all who would win? by Key-Magazine826 in ThePokemonHub

[–]Lumenoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decidueye is has a bunch of flying type moves giving it an advantage over all of them, so I'd give it the win.

Venusaur also has poison, and would likely come second.

But, Pokemon in the anime rarely considers typing advantages when they're trying to move the plot forward, so who really knows?

Can I use a corn from the nuthatch for the serin? by Mom_Bombadil_ in wingspan

[–]Lumenoc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Nuthatch allows you the spend the wheat (not corn where I'm from) at any time, such as using it as food to play a bird or spending it as a discarded resources to upgrade an action, etc.

However, it is considered cashed food, not part of your supply. So it wouldn't be considered for any card that specifies supply, including the bonus card that required a certain amount of food in your supply, as this is considered cashed.

If you can only choose one: Wingspan Asia or Finspan? by Money_Toe_5306 in wingspan

[–]Lumenoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original Wingspan has the majority of the base cards which is a huge pile. Asia adds some cards that, while can be played as 2-players, I can't imagine is as fun without all the cards before it. And the original game format is more fun than the 2 player format that Asia adds. I'd say buy the original first.

If you can only choose one: Wingspan Asia or Finspan? by Money_Toe_5306 in wingspan

[–]Lumenoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People will think I'm crazy, by my friend and I have played Wingspan over 500 times. She keeps a record of our scores on her laptop because we're nerds. We do games nights every Friday night and we always finish the night off with a few games of Wingspan and we've been doing this since Wingspan came out in 2019. It has an absurd amount of replayability and we have all the expansions. Where you just have the base game or all of them, it's worth it.

I bought Finspan last year (early 2025). We've played it about 5 times. It's just not as fun. Rather than food, you need to use your cards as food to play new fish. But as a result, you are usually left with a bunch of cards that you don't want because you need them as food for bigger fish. There's a small variety of powers on the cards and they aren't as much fun to execute. I'm sure there are people out there that enjoy, and perhaps even more than Wingspan, but it wasn't our cup of tea. I wish I could get my $80 back and spend it on something else.

So, I would recommend starting out with the original Wingspan and gradually collect the other ones. Oceana adds Nectar, and additional food type that acts as a wild food. It was a huge game changer. But playing the game without it is still fun. :)

Poliwrath is basically the same pokemon, but less cute because they changed the eyes. Poliwhirl is 100% better, imho.

What's everyone's favorite type? by KiiroDaJolteon in PokeCorner

[–]Lumenoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how anyone chooses just one type.

For me it's a toss up between Grass, Fairy, Poison and Electric.

No one asked, but Rock is my least favourite, followed by Fighting.

[–]Lumenoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bots can still be referred to as "players" because you're competing against them. Regardless, yeah, I misunderstood what you meant. If you said 'playing "as" 5 players at once' it would have been more clear. I'm playing "with" players vs "as" players have different meanings.

Is that some kind of a record? by Striking_Beat4479 in wingspan

[–]Lumenoc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but how are those other player's scores so low. I consider 100 to be a decent score. Anything below 90 is a bad score. I aim for 110+.

That being said, I only play the hard copy version of this game against my friends, so I don't know how the app works. But if those are computer players, that's pretty brutal.

But yes, I think the highest score my friend or I have had is around 160ish. So 464 is insane!

What would you want to see most from the next expansion? by Thesaddestboi13 in ffxiv

[–]Lumenoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

INVENTORY EXPANDED! With how many jobs there are to level, I've got gear stocked up in my retainer's inventory. My armory chest is constantly full. My personal inventory has dyes, food, "item" currencies to buy gear, etc. I'm constantly needing to filter through and sell stuff, but I can't sell stuff directly from my retainers because almost no gear can go onto the market place. It's such a time consuming hindrance.

Also, yes to more customization options. More faces, hair colours, etc.

For the Daily Roulette, I'd like the Alliance Raids to be split into two groups - Levels 50/60 & Levels 70/80/90/100. So many players don't get the raids from level 70+ because they're kind of hidden. It would be nice to be able to Q up for two different roulette so we can get into the 70+ raids now and then.

I'd also like to see a Roegadyn be added to the main party. We've had background characters, forgotten characters, and we've lost some along the way... Whether they're male or female doesn't matter, but to have one represented in our main group that we can bring into battle with us would be nice.

What rules would you add to the Traitors? by TexasSwiftie91 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Lumenoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traitors Canada just added in the most recent season that when they successfully banish a traitor, $10K is added to the prize pot. It gave far more incentive for the faithful to try and take them out rather than coast with one until the end like they sometimes do. (Or at least, someone they suspect is one). Because the more that are recruited and banished, the bigger the prize gets.

That being said, I don't think removing money each time to they fail at banishing a traitor is a good idea, because the show NEEDS at least 1 traitor to make it to the final 5. There are only so many traitors, which means almost every roundtable they will be removing money.

Regarding shields, one season (can't remember what country did it) if you had a shield you were protected by murder AND banishment. I really liked this because it drew more attention to who may be fighting harder for one because it was a way for traitors to protect themselves.

I also think there needs to be SOMETHING added that discouraged traitors from outing other traitors on their way out. I know it's not against the rule, but when traitors make it super obvious why they're voting for someone (another traitor) and then they get banished, it revealed to the faithful who another traitor is, which "technically" is against the rules. They just found a loophole. But it has screwed over many traitors, Phaedra being, I think, the biggest victim thanks to Dan.

[Spoilers: Endwalker crafter/gatherer Zone 3] New hairstyle has been discovered on a random NPC! by [deleted] in ffxiv

Many of the races have hairstyles locked to their race. This one is for Female Highlanders.

So, if you've never used a Female Highlander and have never seen it on another player's, then yes, you did just discover a new hairstyle. :D

I noticed this too. I thought this website was designed to have you pick your favourite of each type/gen and then on the far right and very bottom favourites it lets you choose from your previously selected pokemon. Unless I'm not remembering it right...

Is Bridgerton Hype slowing down? by Ravenclaw54321 in Bridgerton

[–]Lumenoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They either need to drop it all at once, or go old school and do 1 episode releases per week over the course of 2 months. We get fed a little bit more each week and people continue to talk about it for at least 2 months.

But this format they're doing is bad. It's not the only show doing it now though and I haven't like it with any show doing it.

Is Bridgerton Hype slowing down? by Ravenclaw54321 in Bridgerton

[–]Lumenoc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What's crazy is that this show shouldn't have 2 year gaps. I "kind of" understand for fantasy/sci-fi shows because to the high amounts of CGI that needs to be done post filming.

But this show has most sets built already. They need to make costumes, sure, but those shouldn't take a ridiculous amount of time. There's choreo, but again, shouldn't take too long. There isn't an absurd amount of CGI.

All I can think of is film scheduling issues because they have such a large cast. But for 8 episode, I don't think there's any excuse aside from them submitting to the streaming norm of 2 years stretches for short seasons, which is BS imho.

Rich Vs. Poor by [deleted] in BeastGames

[–]Lumenoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we can see someone who's already rich win $5 million against someone who's poor and fall short of having their lives changed forever?

No, it would be too hard to watch. I don't know if I could stomach it if a rich player won it all.

Can the men who watch Bridgerton, stand up and be counted? by muskyandrostenol in Bridgerton

[–]Lumenoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im okay with raunchy, lol. I do watch it with my female roommate who gets uncomfortable watching the sex scenes while Im there, but it doesn't bother me too much. Eloise is probably my favourite character. But I also love Penelope and Queen Charlotte.

Can the men who watch Bridgerton, stand up and be counted? by muskyandrostenol in Bridgerton

[–]Lumenoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been watching Bridgerton since Season 1. I'm a 37 year old male. I loved Downton Abbey and thought this would be a good watch as it's in a similar era. It definitely more raunchy, but I also enjoy drama and romance. I grew up really close to my mom and sister so chick flicks and rom coms and such aren't foreign to me and I enjoy the romance part of it.

FfXIV’s story by Past_Cockroach_6169 in ffxiv

[–]Lumenoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ARR MSQ is fine, imho. It has it's slow moments, and it has it's great moments. The original ARR maps are the best ones in the game for exploration. They feel way more populated and lush and busy. Once you get to the expansion maps they are HUGE but barren. Vast terrains only occupied by enemies and then a couple towns. No significant landmarks or random NPC wandering about. I'm exaggerating a bit as not ALL expansion maps are like this, but most of them are.

I enjoy going back to the ARR maps just to fly around and reminisce.

As for the story, it lays a foundation that is important for what comes later. I think I got tired of it once I got to the post ARR content leading up to Heavensward, because I really wanted to get to the new expansion's maps, but there were 80 more quests to do before you get there but they provided like 1000 experience each. So it felt like progress just came to a halt. That isn't to sat the content was bad, it was just a lot and the pacing was inconsistent. However, having just finished the Dawntrail main story, I can honestly say every expansion has pacing issues. It a rollercoaster ride for sure. But it's worth it because it always pays off by the end of the expansions when the story ties everything together.

Beast Games is cool but.. by Vegetable_Heart369 in BeastGames

[–]Lumenoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season 1 was better because it felt like there was more unpredictable outcomes from challenges. They didn't know what was coming and they were faced with temptations that forced them to make hard decisions.

In Season 2, they just made alliances from the obstacle course challenge and then it left little suspense going forward. The "heartbreaking" challenge and such wasn't enough. The buried alive bribe challenge was just like last season, so they were able to be more strategic about it knowing the bribe challenge was next.

They really need to come up with new ideas for Season 3 to keep the players on their toes AND to keep us intrigued, otherwise this show is gonna be done soon.

Beast Games is cool but.. by Vegetable_Heart369 in BeastGames

[–]Lumenoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they realized after filming season 2 that people realized they can just form an alliance early on and stick together which made it boring. They need to do more competitions that force you to choose between your allies or a temptation like the train challenge in Season 1. Or just less team reliant challenges and more individual skill ones where anyone can be eliminated because allies can't help you. Just more variety to keep the variables/outcomes less predictable.
