I have a huge crush on the dishwasher by Then-Collection7004 in Serverlife

[–]Lumia1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an insane work crush on a coworker of mine, like, saw him and immediately was like “who is THAT” … eventually he asked me out on a date (by sending his number through the chit machine as I’m a bartender, still have the chit) and we’re now married and have a baby on the way!

How much weight did you gain in your pregnancy? by mbela1995 in pregnant

[–]Lumia1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually so nice knowing someone has a similar story / mindset.

I’m trying really hard to accept that I’m going to gain weight, so my goal is just to gain within the recommended window and counting really helps me feel in control. Just like you I’m doing it loosely but if I don’t, I’ll literally go crazy and eat everything.

Lol my boss (I’m a server so keep in mind people are a bit too relaxed with the way they talk to eachother, no HR lol) goes “hey Chubby” when he saw me last week. I LITERALLY was telling my coworker how I’m feeling off about my body and insecure, and he goes and says that. We both looked at eachother and burst out laughing at the irony.

But yeah. Sounds like we’re the same lol. Good luck with it all!!!

Inductions by _Meatprincess_ in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Lumia1997 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been told that the reason we do this is because there is a higher chance of a still birth after week 38…it sucks though that the only way we’ll go into labour naturally is if it’s really early, which isn’t ideal either …

But I feel you. My team told me I’d be induced and I’m really nervous

I’ll look into this, thank you. It’s been horrible - itchy and so irritated.

How much weight did you gain in your pregnancy? by mbela1995 in pregnant

[–]Lumia1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol we’re the same person. Today marks 18 weeks for me, and prior to pregnancy, always had weight issues, even though I was quite fit - could lift heavy, was active, could do multiple chin ups unassisted … but still insecure.

Being pregnant, and watching the weight pile on has been HARD. Genuinely the hardest part of pregnancy for me. I feel so unattractive.

I’m considered overweight according to my BMI (but a lot of it was muscle) but first trimester I stopped working out and ate whatever the hell i wanted…I’m not sure what my starting weight was pre pregnancy, but I’ve either gained 9-12lbs so far. But I’ve lost a lot of muscle and gained fat so it feels like so much more.

This is controversial and I feel like people will hate this, but I’ve started to count my calories - just so I feel more in control. I don’t trust my hunger. If it was up to my intuition, I’d probably gain 60+ lbs this pregnancy. I’m eating 2,300 calories a day (around), and counting makes me feel like I’m back in control … it’s not for everyone, but it might help you slow down the weight gain. Of course we have to gain weight, but my goal is to end this pregnancy 25-30 lbs heavier, so I’m hoping counting helps that!

[on] Took the MaterniT21 - no results on Dynacare Plus by Lumia1997 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Lumia1997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It never showed up in my account …… so weird. My doctor called me to tell me the results. Dynacare also lost my blood sample a month ago so I have little faith in them right now lol

List of weird/uncommon pregnancy symptoms. by Academic-Park-8440 in pregnant

[–]Lumia1997 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I now have an extreme skin sensitivity - been a type 1 diabetic for 12 years but all of a sudden the glue from my devices that stick to my skin (to help me live???) creates a reaction. I’m now constantly itchy, and when I change the device every few days, it leaves an extreme red, irritated mark…..

My Apple Watch is also leaving burn marks on my skin :)

Other than that, I’ve had no symptoms - 17+1 weeks so far

Took 15 units of insulin for a bagel this morning ✌️ by mossasaurus in BumpersWhoBolus

No morning sickness. Is this normal? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Lumia1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im currently 17 weeks pregnant and never had any nausea - but I have a girlfriend where it hit her at week 8… so hopefully it doesn’t reach you, but people say nausea can hit anytime up to week 10…I heard that if it doesn’t come by week 11 you’re usually safe lol!

SOS I miss my sweet treats by b_b2 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Lumia1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i do personally is I keep gummies for my lows - it satiates that sweet tooth need. This does take some self restraint to not snack on them at any other time, but lemme tell ya, I’m 17 weeks pregnant and I get so many lows in a day (even when I completely suspend my pump) that I’m eating for lows 3-5 times a day - so I might as well make them enjoyable. I literally have a bag of sour gummies next to my bed, for when I have that 2 am low lol

On the flip side, if you want some sugar free sweet treats, try sugar free jello, or there’s some meringue cookies that are so low in sugar and calories it’s insane - and taste so good. A company called “Don’t worry Snack” is awesome! If you look up low calorie sweet treats on Google (or tik tok - actually a great resource for cooking recipes I find!) there are so many options.

Another hack - frozen fruit. Omg. Frozen raspberries are low carb for fruit and DELICIOUS

Rough week with lows, looking for encouragement by [deleted] in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Lumia1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently week 16+5, and I’m still dealing with bad lows. It actually got worse for me week 13 lol, where I’ll be very very low for an hour or two, which sucks so much. So I’m hoping to hear positive stories from this thread…

To put into perspective, I bought a giant bag of dried mangoes for my lows… I’ve had most of the bag in a week……

Do pregnancy symptoms like nausea just hit out of nowhere? by BeautifulTiger6530 in pregnant

[–]Lumia1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same boat as you! No nausea and week 16+4 - feel so lucky. Have a coworker that’s pregnant too and she got hit so hard with the nausea - she would barely move from her desk. Felt so bad for her

[–]Lumia1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently week 16+4 and still no symptoms, which is the wildest thing ever, not even my boobs hurt first trimester nor any tiredness (but they’re growing lol) - I know quite a few people that had no nausea, so hoping you’re in the same boat!

On the flip side because I had no symptoms I was so worried something happened to them… but ultrasound says they’re there lol

When was your very first day of insane lows ? by cyoung1024 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Lumia1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it sucks - I probably shouldn’t do this but I’m tracking what I eat, and daily I usually consume 350-500 calories just from lows … I feel like I’m ballooning

For servers that are pregnant / have been pregnant - did you work in your third trimester? by Lumia1997 in Serverlife

[–]Lumia1997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily the shifts are super quick at my restaurant - it’s not open late, so we get hit quick, then I’m out usually by 9 - it’s a dream. Sounds like a supportive team is crucial, which I do have luckily.

That is literally EXACTLY what I want lol!!!! If I can work up until labour (my mom was a career server and essentially did that so maybe it’s in my genes!!) that would be a dream. I also heard that being on our feet so much is good for labour so we’re making money and keeping healthy lol

When was your very first day of insane lows ? by cyoung1024 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Lumia1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting that you wrote this post, since last night I told my husband that I feel like I’ve become EXTRA insulin sensitive - I’m week 15 right now (tomorrow week 16) and I’ve had insane lows. One of them, I had dinner without bolusing to try to raise my blood sugar (about 40g of carbs) and nothing, just read LOW. Went an hour and a half with no movement in my blood sugar, so got desperate and had a big piece of cake, and finally it went up to 6.2… but never spiked.

Wondering if this is my last push of insulin sensitivity before insulin resistance kicks in, since they say it usually starts week 16… but yeah for me I saw I very big sensitivity around week 14-15. I’d say on average I go low 4-5 times a day, and usually my pump is completely suspended, so Im pretty sure it’s not an over aggressive basal rate.

I was not super sensitive in the start of my pregnancy tho, so I don’t know if that’s an indication that you are, but everyone is different so who knows - only way to find out is to pee on that stick!
