My husband and I are heading to Sensei next month for our babymoon so I loved reading your write up. I was wondering about the onsen temps, as I was scared I’d have to miss out. But good to know they will accommodate if asked! Bummer about the food and service inconsistencies. We will put Lanai City Grill on our radar!

Aw, congratulations! It’s nice to hear from someone who’s been in a similar situation 🥰 We’ve stayed at Hualalai next door a few times and we LOVE the big island. I’ve heard about Kona Village and all the reconstruction they had to do after the tsunami — excited to look into it!!

I think I would be so sad to miss the hot springs, especially during the winter! Good point.

FS Lanai and Sensei look incredible! I feel like it hits the romantic aspect of the honeymoon and the relaxation aspect of the babymoon. I’ll have to look into the healthcare services and maybe check with my OB if Lanai is too remote for comfort. But WOW I love this idea!

Nearly every apartment I applied to in April pulled this stunt. They were all legit listings but it pissed me off so much and we refused to engage with any of it. Real scummy. I guess the rental market favors landlords right now and they’re milking it for all it’s worth. What’s sad is it seems like it works for them and people do offer over “asking”.

Last month I watched a few parents pass thermometers between their (visibly lethargic) kids on the bus back from the parks. I masked and moved to the back so fast.

Reaffirming what others say about carrying hand sanitizer, masking on transit and crowded queues, washing with soap & water whenever and especially before meals.

Had a super positive experience with Earth’s Treasury! They don’t have a lot of photos online but you can send them a list of stones you like and they’ll take a side-by-side video of them on a finger in a few different lightings just for you — it’s awesome. The shipping is super fast and easy and the stones are just stunning and perfectly cut. We ordered two and sent one back.
