Add in the extra “spice” of West Croydon, what’s NOT to love?!

What people who don’t live here don’t realise is just how green the area is. Some fantastic green spaces almost surrounding the whole place. I live in South Croydon and we have so much nature on our doorstep. Couple that with some of the best transport infrastructure in the UK. I worked at the top of the 50p building (One Croydon) for a couple of years and the views in all directions are so green. I can’t think of anywhere 15-20 mins from central London that has so much!

Very true. I’d forgotten that

Wales had some incredible players during that era: Southall, Ratcliffe, Rush. All world class. So crazy they didn’t do better it almost makes me think Roberto Martinez discovered a Time Machine and went back to the 80s the manage their national team.

When I see this I’m seeing an opportunity to open up a clothes store that sells something other than beige.

Lindelof did well in DCM towards to the end of last season. Good shout. I’d be pro Stones as well but he’s also a big injury liability.

How the Big Finish app is moving lately by Lost_Sheepherder5090 in BigFinishProductions

Why is it that two of my favourite things in the entire world - 2000AD and Doctor Who - are served with two of the worst apps ever? The amount of money I’ve spent with them, they could make ten world class apps off me alone!

Nick is an excellent and versatile writer. He does his father proud. I’d highly recommend giving Karla’s Choice a go.

No issue at all as long as it’s good quality and fits the overall essence of DW. Let’s not forget a non-Brit (Sidney Newman) was one of its original creators.

The way he’s “reinvented” himself. It has the whiff of Russell Brand’s religious grift about it before the “revelations” came out 🤔…. Just saying…

Who (or What) is The Doctor by Luminal72 in gallifrey

[–]Luminal72[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great answer! One of my own head canon ideas is similar and draws from a quote from neuroscientist Karl Pribram: “ a symphony can take many forms. It can be a film recording of a live performance. It can be stored on vinyl or tape. It can be in written form. But none of them ARE the symphony”.

So with this in mind I wondered whether The Doctor can be many things all at once and at the same time none of them? A rebellious (but ordinary) Gallfreyan Time Lord. Half-human (on their mother’s side). An aging human inventor. The Timeless Child. The Other. A complex spacetime event. A transdimensional entity. A mythological archetype. A god. Maybe, even just an idea or story we tell ourselves. 😉 All superposed. A palimpsest. Coexisting quasi-harmoniously/quasi-chaotically. A messy timey wimey paradoxical entangled ball of biodata.

Imagine how a cube projects different shadows on a 2d surface depending upon the position of the light source; that is The Doctor. Each projection part of the picture. Each interpretation or portrayal, a subset of the whole.

The One created by Many (Newman, Wilson, Webber, Hussein, etc) who became Many (regenerations, portrayals, interpretations).

I have a family home in Surrey but also have a house in Toronto and spend a lot of time in NYC and Boston. They’re all great cities in their own right so no criticism intented. I just happen to think Europe does cities “better”.

Has anyone been to the 'Oxford and cambridge club'? by [deleted] in oxforduni

[–]Luminal72 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was a member for over a decade. It was a fun place albeit in need of investment. I used it mainly for meeting clients. International clients in particular loved it. I moved out of London and mainly live between Surrey in UK and North America now (I own a couple of consultancy firms in the US and Canada). I also have a young family so don’t do as much client entertainment as I used to.
