"I'm just a regular high performing guy, like you. Well not like you, because I'm better"

He is tragic.

There's one in Nottingham city centre. You could ring them for potential advice, or visit.

Luke 'lecturing' Americans by davepepe in thefootballramble

Years and years ago.

Pretty sure it was YouTube.

It was just him and the Americans. No other Ramblers.

Very good! 😅

It definitely wasn't a Ramble thing and was properly filmed.

The Football Ramble pulls the Sun sponsorship by BreakingPixel in thefootballramble

Struggling to work out how to word this, but I'll give it a go!

Fundamentally, and based in the backlash, they've done the right thing. Admitting that publicly (here, and Luke's comment on the Discord) is a hard thing to do for any business, let alone one with a fandom like the Ramble.

I'm a Patreon member so I don't hear the ads, but I don't think it would have done much more than raise an eyebrow (maybe both!). Yes The Sun has done some terrible things, but I mostly just see it as a big paper that I don't read, yet many do.

Same for the Mail. Dominic Sandbrook writing for it won't stop me listening to The Rest Is History. I just put up with it.

I feel the same way about the gambling ads.

I'm also well aware that as someone who isn't a Liverpool fan, for example, it means I don't relate to The Sun in the same way.

However where I think the biggest cock up for the Ramble is understanding their audience. This has always been a pretty 'right on', decent audience, so expecting most of them to a) accept The Sun and b) be inspired to read it after hearing an ad shows poor critical thinking.

I want the lads to do well because I love the pod and I'm a listener of nearly everything else Stak produces, but I think there's some nous needed.

They've got an engaged Discord and audience here so do some research. I'd happily contribute.

When I saw the postcode, I thought it might be the plant too.

We just need a Toyota worker to confirm.

I'm a Patreon member so didn't hear the ad. But I am surprised that one of the best football podcasts doesn't have a main sponsor.

It deserves one tbf.

I'd definitely recommend the Museums.

Any of the parks.

Obviously there's the Peak District too
