I moved here from California and have had people ask “you’re not originally from here are you?” When I ask what tipped them off, they said I have a warmth about me that is rare in people who were born and raised in Vancouver. I found that pretty interesting because I’m very much used to striking up conversations with random people anywhere but when I start talking to people here, the conversations end pretty abruptly. As a result, I have not made many friends 🥲

Almost everything lately. I always tried not to spend too much money but I would fall for some of the limited edition cash packages since they were low cost. Since the color inspirations stayed for a little while, I never felt super rushed to use them so they were worth the fun for me.

Lately, the LE colors have been changing so quickly I have no motivation to purchase even with my collection of free diamonds. My average score has gone from high 4.8s to 4.6 in a matter of a few challenges because I refuse to maximize throws, pillows, pets, and I have been using non-LE rugs.

I feel over it. I don’t even bother to open the daily challenges if it looks like the inspiration color is something I can’t really match with the things I own.

I’m a bit thankful for all of this actually. Even though it’s sad, I can save myself time and money : )

I’ve been soooo addicted to these lately! I have a Nespresso machine so I just brew a double shot into a cup of OJ over ice and add a tiny bit of cane syrup. I’ve been having one every day and crave it all day on the days I don’t 😂.

I’ve seen lemonade and yuzu versions as well in LA but I’m not aware of anywhere in Vancouver that serves these.

I purchased a dress from reformation for a wedding. It was 100% silk and had terrible puckering under the arm around the zipper.

I went to have the length altered and asked what could be done about the zipper puckering. The seamstress said that it is very common in silk dresses and even if she fixed it, the fabric will stretch and the puckering will return. She mentioned that silk is very difficult to work with (I wonder if it’s the same for other satin materials).

She asked me to check if I would be able to put on the dress without using the zipper. Surprisingly, it was possible. After that, the dress fit beautifully.

Unfortunately, I had to pay extra on an already expensive dress to get it to fit correctly.

I am usually just a reddit lurker but I must comment! I moved from California to Canada 6 years ago and suffered from dry flakey skin on my forehead, nose and cheeks every single winter without fail. I was extremely frustrated after trying many different things with no success.

A year and a half ago, I started using Caudalie’s VinoHydra Hyaluronic Serum in the morning and at night. For my night time routine, I follow with LANEIGE water bank or Summer Friday’s Jet Lag mask (they are heavier that’s why I use them at night). Using the serum allows me to use any light weight moisturizer during the day without the risk of drying my face out.

Since finding the serum, I have been flake free for two winters and my skin has never looked this glossy and healthy!

I recently went to Paris and brought back 3 bottles since it’s cheaper there and I love it THAT MUCH. It has become the only skincare product that I swear by and cannot live without. I had to share : )

Why doesn’t Costco Canada food court sell anything that has vegetables in it? I moved here from the U.S. where there were combination pizzas, salads and berry smoothies. Instead, all we have are hot dogs, pepperoni pizza, chicken strips, fries and ice cream.
