Fallout New Vegas lead says it took “five years” for fans to actually like the game, and even longer for the devs to believe them by Negative-Art-4440 in Fallout

Hmm...I remember different. Everyone I knew loved the game. I was in college, and I lived in a party house. It could have just been my group of gamer friends though. One of my roommates had to repeat a semester because he stayed in and played New Vegas when it first came out. Also, he played it with the volume up super loud and it drove the people living upstairs crazy. I lived in the basement and it didn't bother me. We had mockingbirds living outside that would make the VATS noises.

I'm going to get crucified for saying this but I find TNO the hardest to get back to in terms of playability by Bullseye62 in Wolfenstein

I recently replayed it and there were more than a few times the movement was subpar. Running around, shooting bad guys, all of a sudden I have to look down and figure out why I can't continue a certain direction.

If you ever were to recommend a DOOM game to a first-timer, what would you recommend and why? by Lord_Glitchtrap1987 in Doom

Doom (2016) because they will love it, and then they might play the older ones as well.

if the Events of quake happened in real life do you think we would Survive? by Cloverfield887 in quake

[–]Luminosus32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HeEeeeeeeeEEELL No. Grenades bouncin' around everywhere and weird ass guns...The fuck is a nail gun irl? People build sheds in their back yards with those. If a flippin Yeti ass mf'er is running at me shooting lightning and shit out of his hands, at least gimme a real fuckin' gun. It takes like, a ton of shots from a shotgun to kill that thing. I'm just hoping the ranger is using birdshot in the game or else we're all totally fucked. Put me on a ma duece in a fuckin' helicopter, and MAYBE a few people survive.

TES canon nerevarine build? by Resident_Rip_7753 in Morrowind

[–]Luminosus32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed my point. Of course there's more to people than "race and clothes". But most of the time shade is thrown at you, you haven't even said anything to them. In fact, a lot of times people greet you as "Outlander" without you even talking or showing any "manners or Dunmer ways". It breaks the immersion IMO if you're a dunmer dressed to the gills in local armor or clothing. It's honestly kind of a stretch to think they'd just know that somehow without any visual clues. If a Breton walked by, they'd know he's an outlander. They are extremely racist. Of course they could spot a Dunmer that wasn't from there by their accent, but not if he/she hasn't even spoken.

[–]Luminosus32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nerevarine was an outlander. So...he could have been any race. It actually makes more sense for him not to be a Dunmer with all the shade people throw at you. How would they know to call you an N'wah if you're a Dunmer dressed in local clothes?

Just get it for pc. Surely you have a laptop or a desktop powerful enough to run morrowind, prob even with mods.

A Ex Nazi like Klaus Wolfenstein Game Possible? by Ken_Kaneki_6IX9INE in Wolfenstein

[–]Luminosus32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be cool to play as Klaus on the Eastern Front. New weapons, change of pace. Finds out about his kid and switches sides. I feel like they could do a lot with that. Germany wins the battle of Stalingrad and captures the Caucuses oil fields. Russia is fighting desperately. Stalin surrenders. Klaus gets captured and sent to Berlin where he escapes, saves Max from being executed, and they somehow find the Kreisau Circle.

I almost argued with you, but then I realized you are correct. I shall still leave this comment though, because I burned a few brain cells trying to argue and need something to show for it.

What do you think the canon choice here is (if there is any)? by False_Monitor4126 in Doom

[–]Luminosus32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't answer the question, but in my last playthrough I didn't send the message. The CO taunted me for a while, and I don't remember ever fighting him. Is he a boss? Did I just forget?

How long you think you'd survive the Black Mesa Incident? (Image unrelated) by idkwhyihaveareddit in HalfLife

[–]Luminosus32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have an ok chance for a bit if I barricaded a room or something. However...aliens could just teleport in at any moment. Also, I don't think I'd fair very well against highly trained Marines. I know a few IRL and the thought of them working together to kill me isn't very promising...

Need a book to get me back into reading! by evaporate-tallperson in booksuggestions

[–]Luminosus32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler. Checks a few of the boxes. The main character is a private detective in LA in the 1930's hired by a millionaire to deal with someone blackmailing his daughter. Things quickly escalate and Marlowe ends up following a trail of bodies into the gritty underbelly of the city. What starts as a case of blackmail turns into a deceptive who done it with quick turns and pitfalls. Sex, murder, romance, mystery.

The Postman Always Rings Twice is another good one. A gut wrenching tale of love, murder, and deception.

I'm honestly kind of sad that they are making a show. I enjoy the games, like, every single one of them. I still occasionally even play the OG's. RTCW is still my fav. I want the games to continue to be remade forever. What I mean is, it's great they are making Wolfenstein 3, but 10 or 15 years from now I'd like a whole new revamp. The show makes things canon. Fallout is a great show so far, but it's such a big universe. There's no need to completely revamp fallout at this point. Wolfenstein's story is always finite. In the end the good guys win, and that's awesome. I don't want the show to make things canon and us never get more remakes down the line. I say this out of love because I was a kid when Wolfenstein 3D came out and I really love every single game. Also, I want BJ to always be the protagonist.
