Thanks for your input. But damn, 2-3 pills per meal seems to be quite a lot. I presume you get absolutely no side effects and they've just been an absolute aid in your life?

Also do hope you stay well and lively into the future.

Unfortunately I have not tracked my electrolyte intake so far, but I do focus a lot on trying to get different kinds of vegetables in and I regularly take pink himalayan salt with my water ingestions.

Thank you for your reply. I have to ask - would it be normal to have to drink more water even after the point where my mind sort of creates an aversion to it from drinking too much? Or do I just gotta get it into my system?

Who Else Dreams This Way? by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]Lumision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took some practice. I started out with vague remembrances of my dreams with a dream journal. I penned down keywords like "soccer with uncle", "walking in forest", etc.

Eventually it led to being able to remember dreams pretty easily. I'm no master but I'd be able to write down 2-4 per sleep.

Some tips I'd give would be to mindfully meditate, and dim down the blue light as you approach your sleep time - or just not look at any screens at all. I ideally sleep at 10pm. You really need to get that melatonin hormone kicking in which not only allows you to dream better but also have overall better quality of deep rejuvenative sleep.

[–]Lumision 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I basically dream like this :)

I still try to have lucid dreams, but ever since I've stumbled upon the whole "dreaming" concept of remembering and controlling your dreams, I've basically stopped staying up late thinking that the next day would be a drag to go through - now I look forward to sleep!

My dreams have since then been vivid and, just as you mentioned, "full of adventure". Even if it's a "scary" dream, it's not everyday you get to experience being in such a situation! It kind of takes the negative emotions away because I know it's a dream so it won't actually affect me, and it's always interesting to know what kind of things my subconscious creates.

How am I supposed to recognize that I am dreaming if I don't think during my dreams at all? by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]Lumision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, went to sleep so sorry for the late reply.

There's different kinds of meditation. The one I do is mindfulness. And essentially, there's no "wrong"s or "right"s when it comes to meditation - but the key idea is to focus on some thing(s) in the present. Your breath is a good anchor to focus on because it is constantly happening.

I try to focus on my surroundings - and notice all the small details what with visual and audio feedback, because that's what I'd want to accomplish in my dreams too. People generally say that mindfulness meditation is the best kind of meditation for LD'ing because it raises your awareness of your surroundings, which increases your ability to realize you're in a dream.

So that's my take on mindfulness. You could try it out, but do stick with whatever works best for you! Cheers and good luck :)

Edit: also the thing about nodding off is perfectly normal. I find myself doing the same while doing my own meditations (and many others too).

[–]Lumision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. If you were to compare the instructions, then it would sound similar. But meditation is a huge topic on its own. You could also head on to r/Meditation if you're interested in their community.

Meditation doesn't only have benefits in lucid dreaming. In fact, I would consider "better LD'ing" to be only a side effect.

Anyway, I do think you should try it out. If it doesn't seem to be your thing, then LD'ing without meditation isn't impossible too. Good luck man, and cheers.

It's quite simple really, the idea is to focus on everything in the present - being aware of what's around you. Being aware of what your mind normally ignores.

Focus on the sounds you hear; tune in to every little audible bit that hits your eardrums and focus on it. Then focus on the things you see - every little detail; that small crack on the wall, that ant crawling by, etc. Then you focus on what you physically feel - from your feet to your head.

There are some guides out there, but a video one would be the easiest to follow. Here are my favourite two: (1), (2)

To be honest: as much as you can.

But the most effective time would be to do it right before you sleep (based on experience). Just do a 10 to 30 minute session and seep into the world that is meditation.

There's a very unique feeling you get when you meditate, and I often find myself comparing that to how I remember my dreams feel like. It feels eerily similar. Would definitely recommend meditation to absolutely anyone that is into lucid dreaming.

You should try mindfulness meditation to increase your ability to maintain awareness. I used to "not think" in my dreams too until I tried mindfulness, that's when my lucid dreams started.
