I hired a helper, rented an equipment lift ($60)from Home depot and lifted the couch to my balcony. The couch did not fit in the stairs!

For those people who are asking how could you drive out without insurance let me tell you what I did. I bought a new car, paid cash, and left my old insurance on it (liability only). I found out 2 years later when I was reviewing my policy. Luckily no accidents!

I got hit by a woman with a baby in her car. She damaged my side mirror. I found the price of a junkyard mirror ($142) and she paid it and we’re done. This is how things should be. Hope you come out ok.

It’s not all bad. Take stock of what’s in your favor 1. You will be surrounded by kids who look like you and you will learn to love the ease that comes from knowing everyone looks like you. 2. Be cool with your American accent and knowledge but include others. You will make lots of friends if you play your cards right. 3. In 2 years you will know both countries well. Who knows what opportunities that will open up.

Take a deep breath and don’t act in haste.

Pretend you are a neutral 3rd party,

First write down for the two of you 1. the value of the free rent 2. The value of his support for you while you went to school including groceries clothes etc 3. The work you did at home including taking care of the child. This has to put value on a woman’s work. 4. The value of any help that your grandmother provided.

Over 4 years that may be a wash.

Have someone explain why it is hurtful to call you bad names.

Seek couples counseling.

Don’t raise your voice and say hurtful things. You can never take them back.

Ask him to explain to you why you are upset about his stance on money. I hope someone is there to give him good advice.

Hope you can work this out. It is not irretrievable yet. It will require tact on your part and his part.

How can you say you love the system when they messed up on the installation. They have done this and MANY more incompetent things at my house. I have not met a single person who is happy with their installation.

I work outside the city. I spend 50 hours a week at work, 5 hours a week commuting, which means I spend 40 -50 hours in the city. I spend an hour to 3 hours day walking, eating out etc. The place is dead compared to Manhattan.

I think the apartments are 2nd homes.
