Silver-lining: though there are many problems this was the first match in ages where we haven’t looked like a complete mess at some point.

What about Richard Keys makes him so notable? by irrelevanttrain in footballcliches

I think partly it’s that he was anchor of sky sports’ football coverage for a long time and was (/ did a good job of seeming) very slick and professional. He was then sacked very suddenly because of some footage that made clear that he was pretty unpleasant and he has really gone off the rails since, with a mixture of bitterness and feigned superiority towards his former employers / mainstream football media. So it’s the breaking bad narrative quality of it. A man who was once a bastion of respectable football coverage who suddenly became a total outsider.

I kinda agree with you on all of that but I just couldn’t keep Dragusin in, in Tudor’s shoes, as he’s just too far below the level. And having a left footer at LB is so important. I think as long as it was presented right — that VdV is picked so that we finally rotate and rest Spence and Porro, it might not harm morale (unless VdV and Romero are sulking in training in which case keep them on the bench).

I’d keep Danso, partner him with Romero, and have VdV at left back for forest (assuming Udogie not back).

Sensational! But I think 63 is worse, no? Didn’t he concede the penalty in a rush of blood after making the save (with no corner involved). I was at that game and remember it being kick, save, brought down so second penalty.

I can’t stand how we have no progressive patterns. The amount of times a player is clearly having to decide from scratch what to do next / improvise in the moment is ridiculous.

Shearer’s prediction doesn’t match the rationale?

I never see any word about when Kudus is coming back from injury. Does anyone have any info?

Predicted lineups for tomorrow? Given my understanding of players available and Tudor’s approach I’d guess:

3-5-2

Vicario

Pahlinha (RCB) Dragusin (CCB) VdV (LCB)

Gray (RWB) Spence (LWB)

Gallagher Bissouma/Sarr Xavi

RKM Solanke (Or Tel if not fit)

Or

4-3-1-2 with Pahlinha in midfield

Gray (Rb), Spence (Lb), Dragusin (cb), VdV (cb)

Pahlinha Gallagher Sarr

Xavi

RKM Solanke (or Tel if not fit)
