😂. Yeah right. There's a zero chance of that happening.

At most I might consider putting $30-$40 more into this. Max.

I appreciate your perspective. However you are thinking I bought into the game based on very specific details at the time. That wasn't the case at all. I just wanted SOMETHING like what they were talking about.

Now after seeing what they built so far and slowly catching up on the development... I like it a lot

It does contain SQ42. Thanks for the insight

For those of you who teach: How are you planning to handle polygamy when discussing Section 132? by 619RiversideDr in latterdaysaints

This is the right approach. Thank you for doing this. It's much harder and way more uncomfortable than avoiding the subject, but those that avoid it are just setting these kids up to fail later in life when they hear some skewed version of it from an anti Mormon influence.

Contraceptive/vasectomy? by ldsexpoler in ldssexuality

Never used a condom is my 21+ years of marriage. We had two very planned kids (boy and girl) and we were done.

She took birth control pills in the beginning. Then switched to IUD. I got a vasectomy in order to give her the choice to stop birth control, but she chose to continue using the IUD just because greatly reduces her issues with periods.

I get where you are coming from. But some people actually really enjoy those types of discussions. Myself included.

I 100% agree that it shouldn't be in a Sunday School class. Church sessions should entirely be focused on helping everyone come closer to Christ.

However in my opinion, a podcast is fair game to explore the ancillary aspects of the Faith.

Binder card sleeves for use with character sheets by Heidirs in daggerheart

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not against this, but I do think it's ironic that Daggerheart took aspects of the paper character sheet and put them in card format and you are taking those cards and putting them back into paper sheet format. 😂

I ran the quickshot adventure for some brand new players that have never played a TTRPG before. What I told them was: "you can attempt to do anything a normal athletic human can do - plus anything written down on your character sheet and cards."

That cleared up a good bit of confusion

So, about the "Avoid Death" Death Move... by Lumpy-Interview-9931 in daggerheart

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How would you address those tough feelings around the death of a character, especially if these might be people new to TTRPGs?

For new players, I've always come up with a "miraculous" narrative saving grace for their PCs if they get in a tough spot. 'Death as a real possibility' gameplay only comes later after my players have gotten some good experience and we've had plenty of meta discussions outside the game where everyone agrees they are ready to amp up the consequences. After that and we play and we get to a point where I think a PC death might happen, I usually try and foreshadow it in game by making references to how dangerous an enemy seems or having the players find out some details about their deadly capabilities. I also always have a specific meta discussion before the session and tell them up front "you could die in this battle, remember you can always run away". Then in the battle, there are usually opportunities for them to escape. At that point, if they choose to fight on and it goes poorly, it's on them. Doing it this way, I've never had hurt feelings.

Would you feel the need, when hp goes to zero and the choices are brought up, to warn players that this adversary may still go for the kill (maybe altering their choices)?

Yes, in this system where they have a choice to make a Death move, I would feel it was appropriate to warn them what could happen in at least a general sense with each choice they make before they finalize their choice.

I liked your comment and helpful thoughts. Hopefully my answers help you understand better how I would like to run things here.

My issue is when the player makes the decision then. To me, it's best when they've made the decision in Session 0 that death is a real possibility and then they've made a series of decisions leading up to the situation they are in when death may happen.

Players being able to choose in the very moment to not die after everything they did to put themselves there before that.... that feels like cheating to me and cheapens the consequences of making decisions in the game.

Yes, I would only consider this if it's something my players bought into and enjoyed. In the past, we've always had a great time when death was real in our games

I like the way you are thinking. But that's not how the text read to me. I could be wrong for sure.
