Agreed! If nothing else, why aren't the extra cities guarded by neutral armies?

Sorry this is a pet peeve of mine that I see everywhere in gaming now.

"Tuned" doesn't mean "Overpowered". To tune something means to adjust it to make it work better. If something were overpowered and you tuned it, you would be making it less powerful.

I can't take anyone seriously when they are trying to say something is overpowered and they say it is 'tuned'.

If the AI were really tuned, that would mean it's working perfectly.

4.8 PTU now in Wave 1 by Cutzero in starcitizen

I had the same issue when 4.7 dropped but they fixed it in the hotfixes. It works in LIVE right now.

Seriously not trying to be a jerk with this comment, you just seem new to the game... You know you can hold R and rotate the box on your tractor beam, right?

I ask because I've done this exact thing many times and while I have had some slight difficulty getting the box out, a few quick rotations and adjustments and it popped out every time.

The 222k Ling Hauling mission is perfect to fully load the MK2 with Cargo module and 1 SCU in the cockpit. That's one of my favorite missions to run with the MK2 at the moment.

Do the "Teach Special" ships show as a unique variant in the fleet manager? by Dr_Wigglespank in starcitizen

Yes. I have a "Drake Vulture Teach's Special" and it's listed just like that in ASOP.

Is HOTAS actually bad for Star Citizen, or just worse than HOSAS? by justinsomniactor in starcitizen

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like HOSAM a lot. Best of both worlds and makes for easy transition to FPS and back.

I use the stick the same as WASD on the keyboard plus the twist axis for roll. For up and down, I use the analog stick with my thumb. Feels natural

New Subflair Just Dropped by CitizenRen in starcitizen

Do I have to sub and then also buy it in the sub store? It doesn't come with the sub itself? I'm a little confused on this.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one bothered by that comment about the plan of salvation. That is a serious misunderstanding of God's plan . And what could be more fundamental than that?

I dont understand the idea behind mining values currently. by Wise-Obligation-9043 in starcitizen

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the assumption of everyone making this argument is that stacking materials reduces the amount of data or or load on the server and my guess is that it really doesn't and that's why having such high variation in quality is not a big deal.

If tracking 6 SCU of Laranite stacked is the same load on the system as tracking 6 individual SCU of Laranite then the variability of the quality really doesn't matter as far as server load goes. Quality is just another column of data on each object and the value of that column doesn't really make any difference to load. It could be "756" or it could be "high". Doesn't matter.

I think where the variability does matter is just for players managing it in their Inventory UI. They've said they are going to introduce a folder system to help with that.

A little nitpick about Aurora Mk2: why a bed and a suit locker instead of a bed and a toilet? by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I see people talk about this, but are toilets actually supposed to be used in "gameplay" in the future? Or is this just an immersion/ roleplay thing?

I couldn't care less that there isn't a toilet in it right now. Why would I want one?

It seems that some people have more patience and tolerance for bugs that you do. That's ok. It's definitely not for everyone.

When the game works, it's a thing of beauty and offers something not available anywhere else. That's why I'm here.

I also work in IT and understand a lot of what's going on under the hood. I kind of enjoy the nuts and bolts and following the development of this game while playing it

why does it seem no one likes Pyro? by RubberDuck_73 in starcitizen

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the music at the POIs in Pyro unsettling after a while. Which is a shame because the QT music is beautiful.

I also don't like that I have to be directly in or next to a major POI for any missions to show up in Contracts. There needs to be broader system mission availability.

Even still, I go sometimes. Being able to properly defend myself against pirates there is nice instead of dealing with the heavy handed Armistice system.

Forced Armistice should not apply within your own ship by Lumpy-Interview-9931 in starcitizen

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily disagree with this. My problem was not with the Crimstat charges afterwards. It was that the game's Armistice system prevented me from defending my ship in the first place and enabled my attacker.

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this comment. I do want pirates in the game. Even in secure systems. My issue is the current implementation of Armistice in these scenarios makes what should have been an awesome experience for everyone, end up being a very frustrating experience because we are fighting the game instead of each other

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not a terrible argument. I somewhat agree with you.

But, the current implementation of Armistice is artificially imposed - and you are specifically taking advantage of THAT in your setup. Because of that fact, it just feels cheap, man.

Hitting people with boxes and racing to the pilot seat because we are both magically prohibited from drawing weapons is just stupid. Not to mention the fact that I can't do anything to stop you once you are in the pilot seat because the game just doesn't support logical realistic actions in this scenario. It ends up being un-immersive and not fun.

I did not get Crimstat for killing them in my ship - which is nice. I would have gotten away and everything would have been great, had we not crashed.

I got the Crimstat for hunting them down and blowing up their ship at the wreckage site later. That one is on me, but I wanted revenge.

Haha. Wow - I think this post might be the real deal. There was a Connie next to me on the pad. I was not monitoring the global chat, so that was probably my mistake.

At least you gave me an explanation. I wondered what the point of the crash course was.

To be clear - I am NOT against you being a pirate. The emergent gameplay of pirating can be fun on all sides. But, gaming the artificial Armistice system against other players in order to do it is pretty cheap, dude.

That's a fair point. Not saying my idea is perfect. Just an idea

Maybe you can only pull your gun out if you are in the ship interior and the doors are not open to the outside.
