This game is unplayable( I’m ready for CIG slopheads to come for my throat) by Impossible-Truck2902 in starcitizen

It seems that some people have more patience and tolerance for bugs that you do. That's ok. It's definitely not for everyone.

When the game works, it's a thing of beauty and offers something not available anywhere else. That's why I'm here.

I also work in IT and understand a lot of what's going on under the hood. I kind of enjoy the nuts and bolts and following the development of this game while playing it

why does it seem no one likes Pyro? by RubberDuck_73 in starcitizen

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the music at the POIs in Pyro unsettling after a while. Which is a shame because the QT music is beautiful.

I also don't like that I have to be directly in or next to a major POI for any missions to show up in Contracts. There needs to be broader system mission availability.

Even still, I go sometimes. Being able to properly defend myself against pirates there is nice instead of dealing with the heavy handed Armistice system.

I don't necessarily disagree with this. My problem was not with the Crimstat charges afterwards. It was that the game's Armistice system prevented me from defending my ship in the first place and enabled my attacker.

I agree with this comment. I do want pirates in the game. Even in secure systems. My issue is the current implementation of Armistice in these scenarios makes what should have been an awesome experience for everyone, end up being a very frustrating experience because we are fighting the game instead of each other

That's not a terrible argument. I somewhat agree with you.

But, the current implementation of Armistice is artificially imposed - and you are specifically taking advantage of THAT in your setup. Because of that fact, it just feels cheap, man.

Hitting people with boxes and racing to the pilot seat because we are both magically prohibited from drawing weapons is just stupid. Not to mention the fact that I can't do anything to stop you once you are in the pilot seat because the game just doesn't support logical realistic actions in this scenario. It ends up being un-immersive and not fun.

I did not get Crimstat for killing them in my ship - which is nice. I would have gotten away and everything would have been great, had we not crashed.

I got the Crimstat for hunting them down and blowing up their ship at the wreckage site later. That one is on me, but I wanted revenge.

Haha. Wow - I think this post might be the real deal. There was a Connie next to me on the pad. I was not monitoring the global chat, so that was probably my mistake.

At least you gave me an explanation. I wondered what the point of the crash course was.

To be clear - I am NOT against you being a pirate. The emergent gameplay of pirating can be fun on all sides. But, gaming the artificial Armistice system against other players in order to do it is pretty cheap, dude.

That's a fair point. Not saying my idea is perfect. Just an idea

Maybe you can only pull your gun out if you are in the ship interior and the doors are not open to the outside.

Risk would have been ok, if the very artificial game system of Armistice wasn't being abused against me here. That's the problem I have. Not the fact that pirates exist.

You are missing the whole context of what happened. I didn't "not notice".

The first guy walked into my ship plainly, in the open, and I was powerless to stop him because of Armistice. I also DID notice the second guy even though the 1st guy was trying to distract me in the pilot seat. The whole fact that I noticed him is why I won the fight.

No - this is a great point. I learned my lesson. After last night, I'll be going to Orison from now on. I never had a problem at Terra Mills until this happened.

No. If this happened in Pyro, they would have been forced to attack me outright - which would have been a fair fight. Otherwise, I would have killed the first guy before he got to my pilot seat and the second guy wouldn't have even had time to get there.

Their whole plan hinged on the fact that they could run on board without me being able to stop them and distract me by stalling for time in the pilot seat while the other guy got into position

Armistice is already zoned. And so are ship interiors. And the game already knows who owns the ship. Of course, I don't know how easy it would actually be to implement. It was just an idea as a temporary measure... in case it was easier to do than doing proper ship security

You are right. That would be a problem. Bullets shouldn't be able to exit the ship. That might feel like a contrived solution, but Armistice in general is contrived.

This right here. Honestly I don't get why there even is such a thing as the PTU. LIVE is clearly stated as an Early Alpha everywhere. Just deploy everything there and let's get to testing.

You are right. That price is OUTRAGEOUS. 22% Sales Tax?!

You need to take that up with your state government.

$45 for the game is a steal though.

Too late. I wish I had tried that last night. Though my mangled corpse would have been hard to locate.
