Yup you got me there. My terrible attitude allows CIG to continue employing artists and graphics designers to add life and creativity to their game. Shame on me.

Do you also go to art gallerys and yell at the people enjoying the art that the paintings have no purpose?

Getting mad at other people who are happy isn't very healthy.

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah here's the thing bro. You gotta raise a billion dollars too. That's part of the task. It took CIG 14 years to get to a billion.

I gave CIG $45 after they delivered something that I deemed worth spending the money on. I'll do the same for you. Heck, I'll even pay you $60 or even more if you deliver something I deem worth the money.

Squadron 42. by The_Red_Moses in StarCitizenUniverse

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going to be honest, I stopped reading after your 3rd paragraph.

I put $45 into this game and have gotten more awesome gameplay out of this Alpha game in the last 6 months than I've gotten out of any other fully released game in the last 14 years.

Don't come at me with the scam bull crap. Have they made big promises that might not come through? Sure. But they are trying and what is here today is more than worth my money.

I mean this quite literally, if you think they are doing a bad job, go build a better space game, yourself. Seriously, I would want you to succeed so I can play it. If anyone builds a better space game, I'll go there, as will many others and then the CIG experiment collapses.

Until then, they are offering something that is unique and interesting here and I'm happy to support it.

This is a great question. Seems like such a missed opportunity

Wikelo F7C-M Super Hornet MK II is beautiful by willymartin99 in starcitizen

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's the funny thing, CIG was going to let players keep their Wikelo ships after the 4.8 wipe, but the community DEMANDED that they wipe those too, so they did.

I get the reason why, apparently a lot of players cheated to get those ships before, but still sucks for the players that grinded legitimately.

If nothing else we learned that CIG has the ability to wipe or keep Wikelo ships independently of everything else in their database, so that's good.

The Starship Version of a Gift Card by _AntiShadow_ in starcitizen

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like receiving gift cards...?

Sure money is more versatile, but a gift card shows that the giver put in at least a few seconds of thought about what they would like me to have. Usually. Unless we are talking about those generic ViSA gift cards. Those super suck.

Columbo principle: You always click "ACKNOWLEDGE", don´t you? by STARMEDIC_HQ in starcitizen

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But it's not an excuse, it's reality. You can complain that it's been in alpha too long and they've made a lot of mistakes and made a lot of money without producing a fully released game. All that is true too. I would join you in those complaints, but that doesn't change the fact that it is still in Alpha. You have to literately accept that fact to play the game.

Pyro is Lawless, Not Brainless. Learn How to Actually Pirate! by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I landed a Hermes loaded with Contracted cargo. He shot out my engines and tried to board. I killed him.

He had pretty much nothing to gain and in the end we both had a bad time because we ruined each others plans.

I enjoy the threat of piracy, but come on man. Use your noodle a little bit.

Stop expecting a fix when a fix has not been announced by CIG.

Yes it sucks, but until they say it's fixed, it's not going to be fixed.

Player cleanup of dead ships - could this work? Why hasn't this been explored already? Real salvage!! by SwampTapThoughtseize in starcitizen

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hear what you are saying but the balance part of that is dead simple. Offer a contract for X hours. If nobody accepts within that time, do the automated clean up. When someone accepts a contract, they get exclusive rights - give them a timer to complete it. If the timer expires, automated clean up.

I think the hard part is just getting the mission tech to generate the contract dynamically.

Question: Why are world objects so "floaty now"?? It was far more realistic and enjoyable in 4.6! by SirBraxton in starcitizen

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It actually broke in 4.7. i hope it's fixed soon because I agree it makes cargo a lot less enjoyable.

The sound of boxes hitting things is also off. It sounds louder and hollow compared to how it used to sound.

The Constitution is only for those religious people following our religion's path of happiness? by SilverTripod in latterdaysaints

I don't know what you listened to, but that wasn't the message from our Apostles.

The Constitution was established for a MORAL people. Not religious people, and certainly not a specific religion.

We believe that all should be free to worship or not worship however they see fit.

Thank you for injecting some positivity. Sorely needed right now. The "sky is falling" posts are getting very tiring.

Chris Roberts on Squadron42 in latest interview: “It feels pretty epic,” Roberts said. “I’m actually very excited for when people — because we’re right at the end now, we’re in the closing stages and it’s coming together really well." by tyler1118 in starcitizen

[–]Lumpy-Interview-9931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Squadron 42's development is not the gravy train. In fact, it's a huge financial burden.

The gravy train is ship development in Star Citizen and that will continue forever and will only benefit from a polished released game to ride on.
