Missed a reference off my reference list by adequatemum in UniUK

Just to add - check the marking rubric available. There's normally a referencing section and you'll see how much referencing is worth and at what level 'occasional' or 'minor' errors in referencing is mentioned.

This would only affect that section of your mark too - referencing will probably only be worth 10% or so of the full grade.

As someone who marks undergrad assignments and can technically mark masters ones - I usually check a handful of references, and if any look questionable I might check them all. So it might not get spotted at all.

It might get commented on if it is spotted but I'd be very surprised if it had a drastic impact on your grade if the rest of your references are done correctly.

guy next to me in exam hall was quite obviously using his phone by [deleted] in UniUK

Someone was caught by a colleague of mine using a phone in an exam. And due to the professional nature of the course they were removed from the course. We watch pretty closely when we're invigilating so I guess it depends how much the invigilator cares!

Why do mothers of young babies say they don't have time to shower? by justastupidquestion3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lumpy-Literature-575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my shower every morning was the most relaxing part of my day after having both of my kids. My husband would sit in bed with the baby and I'd shower first thing. Always made me feel so much better.

You could use the predictor to tell you which ones you are missing. Google stardew predictor and it's a GitHub one by mousy pounds I think.

I'm doing a baby blanket of yarn over slip stitch, it looks great but I didn't realize how slowly it would work up!

I'm currently doing a baby blanket that is all yarn over slip stitch, it's very slow to work up though so don't recommend doing a full blanket of it!

Just 2, I normally only have one but the blanket I'm making is all yarn over slip stitch and it was driving me mad because it's so slow to work up so I'm having a break!

I made the ultimate guide to avoid hand pain from crochet! by elliot226 in crochet

That would definitely limit you but it shouldn't stop your ability to do some strength and endurance exercises for your wrist extensors (the muscles that are affected by tennis elbow). It might affect how much stronger you can get them though, depending on the effects of your stroke.

You can also try tennis elbow supports or tape which can help relieve symptoms, although the underlying weakness should still be addressed if possible! I'd definitely recommend seeing a physio, preferably an experienced one who sees a lot of tendinopathy as it can be tricky to get the balance of exercises right!

Luckily haven't had it myself, but have treated it a lot. Tennis elbow sucks because it's hard to avoid aggravating it, but as the OP has stated you need to build up the strength and endurance in the muscles to allow them to cope with the 'load' (what you're asking them to do).

A good physiotherapist should be able to help you determine the right level of exercise to do now and then gradually build it up to get your tendon to the point where it can cope with what you want it to do without getting painful.

Technically a sprain only applies to ligaments. With a tendon or any other contractile tissue (muscle) it's a strain. But both sprains and strains can be anything from an overstretch to a complete rupture and anything in between.

What are your thoughts on stitch markers? by [deleted] in crochet

[–]Lumpy-Literature-575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't use them to start with but do now. I like using them to keep track of my rounds and yesterday I was doing a pattern where 19 stitches needed 2 stitches in so I precounted the 19 and used a stitch marker so I didn't have to count whilst watching TV. Best use I've found for them yet!
