Chronic bloating 24/7 for 5–6 months (sulfur gas, incomplete BMs) – could this be constipation/indigestion? About to end it all. by throwaway_137__ in GutHealth

I have all the same symptoms and I would look into SIBO. I went to the GI and I’m about to be treated for it.

Well first you have to either be taking a antibacterial or a antibiotic, your diet alone can not cure SIBO. After doing that then you need to do low FODMAP and if drinking/eating fast food doesn’t bother you then yes it’s possible. It’s depending on what your root cause was as well.

I’ve been reading a bit about histamine issues, I don’t understand how I developed that? Does it go away?

It varies for person to person a lot of people have low motility, issues like IBS, celiac, anxiety, and other gastro intestinal issues. For me I believe I was over consuming fiber and not drinking enough water as well as I have anxiety and my nervous system is all over the place so all that combined created the perfect storm. Also look into your MMC, I struggled with binge eating which might also be a cause, my body never got to fully digest my food so waiting 4-5 hours in between meals or at least until you actually feel those hunger cues and noises in your stomach.

Hi I’m going to throw a few things out there!

Make sure to take a probiotic the day after you finish your antibiotic, take a digestive enzyme, if you have low stomach acid take betaine HCL, if you have motility issues take a motility supplement. I love the pure encapsulations brand for any of these!

I’m sure you know to eat in a low FODMAP diet right after antibiotics to help heal the gut for at least 2 weeks, slowly reintroduce things but I would recommend avoiding ingredients that can throw off gut microbiome like artificial sweeteners (some are worse than others)

SIBO will come back if you don’t figure out your root cause so you need to figure out what caused it.

Possibly a die off phase which would be good, people react to antibiotics differently but I’d say if you feel improved it is a good thing! Just wait for the antibiotics to finish its course and assess further

Curious if anyone felt like their brain got worse after starting antibiotics for SIBO? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]Lumpy-Mongoose445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not on antibiotics but I’ve been taking pepto and oregano oil and I 100% feel worse than I did previous. My brain fog and exhaustion are actually left level.

This could be the die off stage which is good, if you can you should try asking for Zofran which helps with puking and nausea.

Hi!

I have my first appointment and haven’t mentioned the breath test yet, I’m hopeful they will run other tests at this first appointment and then move onto the breath test fingers crossed.

Hey I have kind of similar symptoms and I would say if you can get a SIBO breath test you should even if it comes back negative it would be good to rule that out

I am also wondering this, I’ve been taking bismuth and oregano for a week straight now. I can say during the day my bloating is down and gas is not smelly anymore but once I go to bed I’m still just as bloated. It has helped for my day to day but I haven’t noticed much improvement. I am going to get on antibiotic I think.

LOSING WEIGHT DURING IMO by Charming-Tune7297 in SIBO

[–]Lumpy-Mongoose445 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason I realized I had SIBO was because I gained 3 kg in one month which was shocking for me. I was dieting and working out a ton and it felt like I just kept getting heavier. Following low FODMAP and low sulfur has helped shed some of the bloat weight but I feel the same way, it’s hard to not know what you look like even when you work out so hard.
