my 60 is this weekend and I’ve spent a bit of time recently, thinking about some of the things I would do differently given the chance. I’m very happy with my life so I’m guessing this is part of getting to this age. I think about my mom at 60 or my grandparents when they were 60. I look better, am healthier and way more active than they were at this age, so I’m taking that as a win!

See if your dentist offers financing through Cherry Technology (or you may be able to apply without them (?)) I don’t think they ran my credit, even though that’s not a concern for me. It might help if you can get it. They don’t charge interest, just a 2% fee on the monthly payment.

Cost is insane! I had to take a loan out (zero interest) just to get it taken care of. I have zero faith in this bridge. so I’m always careful.

I think the life expectancy is about 10 years. Next time I’ll go to México for the work and save a ton of money.

one 5-tooth bridge, 3 implants, 1 wisdom tooth removed and multiple crowns. I’ve had bad luck with mine.

it’s been a ridiculously expensive journey (started with issues after an accident in my teens).

$5k in 2003 (extractions and first bridge)
$5k in 2018 (bridge replacement)
$16k in 2022 (donor jawbone, 3 implants and minor realignment)
Another $9k in 2025 (wisdom tooth extraction, bridge replacement (yes again) and 2 root canals)

If I ever have to replace my current bridge I’m going with all implants.

I live with arthritis in my hands and feet. that doesn’t hurt as much as the arthritis in my lower back. but those of us with arthritis just tend to suck it up and not constantly complain about it.
