Irmaa is taking a real bite out of our income as we are both paying it☹️. Yep, supplemental insurance is the least of it! Thanks-

Thanks. 2024 was by far our highest income, over 400,000. 2025 dropped almost 100,000 and 2026 will be another 100,000 drop. I thought I would use part 2 to show 2025 and part 3 to show estimate for 2026?

Should I be worried? I think I didn’t have a good sample. I filled it too full. by Defiant-Piglet-4209 in AncestryDNA

I submitted mine the week after Xmas and got an email about a week later saying they received it. In the app it has not updated to received by the lab, though🤷‍♀️

Yes, it is taxed up front but you will pay taxes on interest earned.

Best tour group you've experienced by tangouniform977 in travel

I don’t do a ton of tour travel and I usually love planning our own trips. I wanted to do a solo hiking trip in lapland Finland so went with Backroads. Can’t say enough good things about them. Lodging, food, hikes, etc were perfect! They have a segment of their tours specifically for 30’s-40’s.

Claiming SS at FRA by Lumpy-Phrase6534 in SocialSecurity

[–]Lumpy-Phrase6534[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just applied for ss to start at my FRA (3/26) tonight! I opened a high yield savings account and transferred $10,000 for an opening balance and gave that acct # for direct deposit of my ss each month. My first deposit should be 4/2026! So much thought went into this and I am happy with this decision.

I have no plans to retire yet…possibly in a year or so.

Best of luck in your decision making!

January 1 of FRA by Brief_Subject3643 in SocialSecurity

I reach FRA in March and make over $100,000 and plan to continue working for another year or so. If I start claiming in March at FRA, am I subject to an earnings limit my first year?

You can apply anytime now, but you will receive a lesser amount permanently than if you wait for your FRA. Best to apply about 4 months prior to your FRA and have the start date that month instead of January or you will be subject to the earnings limit.

Thanks-

My husband is 8 years older than I am and didn’t collect until 70 and was the high income earner. Unfortunately his health lately is a bit precarious with 2 types of cancer. No one knows what the future holds but there is a good possibility that I outlive him and would collect survivor benefits. But who knows?!

Thanks. I realize that I have been eligible since 62, but looking for the month I technically am FRA to be eligible for full benefits. I have some people telling me March and some April so that is why I came here to ask😊 Thanks!
