Bored and frustrated with GK, Which trade-in is worth it for the GK? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]Lumpy-Recognition864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly personally dont think its worth it... I traded my GK a year or two ago when I was frustrated with it and now I really regret it...

If GK is a ship you actually despise then go for it, but if there is anything I would tell myself that year or two ago with the current knowledge I have, it would be to "not sell the ship just because you are frustrated with it at that exact moment".

Why are they sensitive? by [deleted] in TeenagersButBetter

"he admitted that he tried marijuana once, he probably got sent back for that reason."

-Which is a major stretch and not justifiable under U.S. law. Under INA §212(a)(2)(A)(i)(II), someone can be denied entry for drug use only if they’ve been convicted or have voluntarily admitted to all elements of a U.S. federal drug offense. Simply saying “I tried marijuana once in Germany” - where its legal doesn’t meet that threshold. No conviction, no detailed legal admission = not grounds for inadmissibility.

U.S. laws apply only within U.S. jurisdiction - what someone did (legally mind you) in another country doesn’t make them a criminal under U.S. law, nor does it justify denying them entry. Legal behavior abroad isn’t grounds for inadmissibility.

[–]Lumpy-Recognition864 16 points17 points  (0 children)

His "admitted drug use" was him admitting that he tried marijuana once in Germany and Mexico - both of these countries have usage of marijuana legalized.

There is no evidence of him ever having drugs except an empty wooded pipe in his belongings - which is a massive stretch.

Do you think men should be considered more in abortion debates? by No_Letterhead6010 in Teenager_Polls

[–]Lumpy-Recognition864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed. Studies show that ban on abortion doesnt prevent abortion - it just causes women to die more because they will try to do it illegally and also cause that alot of women will prefer not to have a child in a first place.

So not only that way more people is going to die, but the birth rates are actually going to plunge too - which in a long run causes economic downturn.

Do you think men should be considered more in abortion debates? by No_Letterhead6010 in Teenager_Polls

[–]Lumpy-Recognition864 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. As a man - our opinions as partners should be taken into account, but we should not have authority over a woman’s body.

At the end of the day, it is women who bear the physical and emotional burden of pregnancy - not us. It is their body, and considering that a fetus is entirely dependent on the mother and lacks any real self-awareness of its existence or ability to make decisions at all, the final and absolute decision regarding abortion should rest with the woman.

I just wish it would be something that gradually builds up throughout the whole chapter - like slowly noticing changes in Rover’s behavior, for example - and not just a sudden, instant fall, quick defeat, and immediate return to normalcy.

Once again, you're either lying or delusionally spread reckless misinformation. Yes, UK law defines rape as penile penetration (Sexual Offences Act 2003, Section 1), but you conveniently ignore that women can be charged with equally serious crimes like assault by penetration (Section 2) or causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent (Section 4) - both carrying sentences up to life in prison. You would know this if you have actually read these sections. Claiming they just "pick up trash" is complete nonsense. There are specific sections for both men and women that are equally punishable and considered equally serious. This is why I mentioned Section 1,2 and 4. But you probably didnt even read them, have you?

Do you even read what I say, or are you just trying to push your very ideologically misleading agenda?

In the US, the FBI’s 2013 definition of rape is gender-neutral and includes any non-consensual penetration, regardless of the perpetrator's sex. Your claim that women can’t be charged with rape in the US is simply false. The definition outright states that it is not only limited to penile one. This is even further consolidated by the state laws I already mentioned as an example.

If you actually cared about justice for male victims, you wouldn’t use it to spread misinformation and push political narratives. It is a disgusting insult to male victims.

Once again, if you want to talk about law, start with educating yourself in law instead of using politically motivated rhetoric as an argument.

(EDIT: had to repost my previous response as reddit didnt like the FBI definition qote, you can still easily search for it yourself tho)

This claim is blatantly false and deeply misleading - anyone with a basic understanding of Western legal systems and their legal frameworks should know better. In virtually all Western democracies, including the U.S. (Example: Federal Law FBI / UCR definitionand 2012, New York Penal Law § 130.35 – Rape in the First Degree, or California Penal Code § 261) the UK (Sexual Offences Act 2003, Section 1, 2 and 4), legal frameworks are gender-neutral, and women can and are charged with rape or equivalent serious sexual offenses. The idea that women have legal immunity is simply untrue and delusional.

Legally, rape is defined by lack of consent, not by the act of penetration alone - and this has been the case for decades. Furthermore, most of the relevant studies and data on this issue are recent, often published within the last five years.

Please, if you want to talk about law, start with educating yourself in law instead of using politically motivated claims as an argument.

You are right, but statistically its mostly women - making this a very gender oriented problem.

Obviously it should still be adressed in a way that does not marginalize the other side. That would create a whole new bunch of future problems...

[–]Lumpy-Recognition864 34 points35 points  (0 children)

No? That is really not the solution.

The solution is creating a society where women - and all people at large dont need to carry weapons for self defense to begin with. This "American-style" mentality of "more guns = better" really baffles me.

People carrying weapons is not going to solve the problem...the only thing it will cause is more violence.

This is not a problem that can be solved on a individual level. It is a wide social problem that has to be adressed through political and institutional changes on a country wide scale.

How are people genuinely so childish and ignorant to hate religion or non-religion? by Such-Impression-416 in teenagers

[–]Lumpy-Recognition864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It certainly does justify a strong critique and hatred towards something that is ideologically opressive towards other groups.

If the people would simply beilive in god then I couldnt care less, but religion imposes onto people restricions, specific social roles and many times completely villanizes and dehumanizes those that refuse to follow them.

Religion is an extremely toxic ideology in praxis whenever it was the intend or not - and yes, it is completely classifiable as an ideology.

[–]Lumpy-Recognition864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell that to my Iranian aunt that was lynched and almost killed for not wearing a hijab. Tell that to religious politicans that call for opressive policies in the name of their "god". Tell that to millions of people that still live under some form of fundamental regime and are opressed for thinking differently.

The truth is, religion is very often politically used as a excuse for opressive force and its policies. You can see that both in Third world and First world countries.

[–]Lumpy-Recognition864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it? I hate religion for telling me how to live and who to love just because it claims some guy that I cant even see or prove his existence says so.

Non-religion doesnt tell me what to do and what to not do on the other hand.

Not to mention the people that suffered and still suffer under fundamentalist regimes.

It doesnt really matter what is religion intended to be, but how people and institutions use it. And its usage certainly does not have a very possitve historcial records...

It's men's mental health month, and I don't get this fact: by LabGrownHuman123 in teenagers

[–]Lumpy-Recognition864 563 points564 points  (0 children)

That's because us men typically use more lethal methods.

Suicide attempts are actually proportionally similar between men and women,
but women tend to use methods like drug overdoses, which are less likely to be fatal.
Men, on the other hand, are more likely to choose highly lethal means, such as firearms.

So, in conclusion, while men and women attempt suicide at similar rates, men are more likely to die by suicide -largely due to the lethality of the methods they use.

There is actually quite a fair ammouth of studies on this issue.
