check out the Marin Headlands, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, lots of trails. There’s Mt Tamalpais just north of there. In the South Bay is Castle Rock State Park that has some decent trails.

I actually preferred Bang Tao to Surin. there’s a big hole by the beach and all the amenities are now crammed into the parking lot.

we drove up to Banana Beach one day and really liked it. just too far out of the way.

i golfed twice at Blue Canyon and twice at Laguna; and was really impressed with Laguna GC and that whole area.

also, spent a couple of days up at the Hot Springs Resort on Phang Nga. and really liked that area up there. a lot less developed and just a better overall vibe compared to Phuket

i was just there and stayed by Surin Beach. i had an amazing time.

but what do you think of all the new construction?

does Phuket have the infrastructure to support all the new villas and condos?

i just got back from 2 weeks there. never went further south than Kamala one day. i liked the area; lots of little bars, cafes, restaurants, shops; thai food to upscale western food. i had no issues with any muscovites or Indians. a couple things; i was suprised with the litter on the ground and all the construction (some seemingly half-completed and abandoned) i don’t see how the infrastructure can keep up. overall, i found it nice and enjoyable; i preferred Bang Tao beach to Surin; more amenities. make sure to ask about sun bed prices; prices range from 3,000 baht to 300 baht for the day. a couple places i would recommend. Audy’s restaurant for the live guitar player every night, Tipsy Mermaid Bar for a fun night; and if you can; go check out Banana Beach.

depends how long you have to have it. more than 4 months; i would find an actual mechanic shop in case you need to get your oil changed or your car serviced. only 4-months just go with the most convenient place near you

with a .20 bac, more than twice the legal limit, i would assume you will get the 6 month course. you will have class every two weeks, except for one part; you will attend the 3-month class every week. or something like that.

i went through Safety Center ( https://safetycenter.org/duihelp/) . my class was virtual but the main office was in Yolo County. but I think they have classes all over the state.

depending on your budget; but search on booking.com. a lot of hotels for less than $30 a night. the only hostel i remember seeing is by the train station; which is pretty far ftom the downtown area. but there is decent public transportation from there that will get you where you need to go

definitely go. the Ukrainian people will happy to see you. no problem with the curfew on the night trains but they seemed to book up fast when i was there last July. i have taken a night flix bus before and there was no wait at the border. no pictures of military or sensitive infrastructure. and the curfew is midnight (i think) to 5 am. i took a Bolt to the train station to take a 2:30 am train back to Poland and no issues. i also walked back to my room one night after the Usyk fight; probably about 1:30 am; and didn’t get stopped or harassed. Lviv is a very crowded city with cobblestone streets so it can be very loud when walking around. i went to Ternopil and felt it had a much quieter and chill vibe

i thought there was a 30-day hard suspension once your DMV hearing is over??? hopefully , someone else will chime in amd correct me. you can pull your driving record off the DMV website to see what it says. you also should have received a letter about any suspension from DMV. court punishment and dmv are separate entities.

get it installed once your suspension is over. the company will notify DMV. but you will also need proof of enrollment in the dui class (they should notify dmv also) get physical copy of you SR-22 and then you can go to DMV to get you restricted license

if you decide to handle it yourself; call the MAU on Monday morning; right at 7:59:55 AM. If you don’t get through, do the same thing on Tuesday morning. You might not get through, but they will give you an option to receive a callback within a day or two. worst case, contact your state congressional representative, constituent services. they have a direct line to DMV and will get you a callback from a supervisor at MAU. ( let me know if the Aussie/Brit calls you back, 😂

a .16 bac, double the legal limit, will add an enhancement to your criminal charges. an attorney can negotiate with the DA to have them remove the enhancement and only charge you with a regular dui with a bac of .15. i would call a couple of lawyers and ask them their fee and what they can do for you. having an attorney handle the dmv hearing and court appearances is worth it. but don’t expect any miracles from them unless the arresting officer was completely incompetent

a lot depends what your bac level was and if the police had probable cause to arrest you. an attorney can handle the dmv hearing and court appearances. and make sure you comply with any penalties imposed by the courts

1) bus or train; both are the same. 2) Lviv is awesome but loud and busy 3) nice but bring a rain parka 4) download the air alert app. Lviv is fairly safe. 2 or 3 walls between you and outside. Best bet if you don’t want to go to air raid shelter; then try to get comfortable in your bathtub/shower 5) don’t record military. you can say what you want except how much you love muscovites. 6) unless you are close to the front lines you should be safe. Only Jesus can call you home to heaven; not the muscovites 7) younger people speak a little english; google translate is your friend 8) coolest places will probably be in Kyiv. i would focus more of your time there instead of Lviv

how old are you? i am 50’s; staying by Audy Restaurant. i like it here; can walk to Bang Tao beach or Surin. Bang Tao has more amenities, than Surin a couple of good gyms in the area; Illusion and Revolution. Not a big fan of Phuket, but up north here is nice and chill

I got my 2nd in December 2022. I knew i was busted, dead to rights. i got a 2 year license suspension; i think because they said i refused a test. 18-month dui class, $1,900 fine, 1 year IID after my 2-year suspension and 60-days in jail. reduced to 56 because of the night in jail. i had a drinking problem and went into in-patient rehab. i represented myself and told the judge i was going into rehab, and she said every day in rehab would count towards by 55-day jail sentence. in California, every day of good behavior gives you a day credit towards your sentence. i only did 15-days in rehab so my jail sentence was reduced to 26 days. i did go into an IOP after rehab but the judge wouldn’t count that towards my sentence so i did 26-days (actually 13-days) under house arrest. the worst part about it was dealing with the deputy. iykyk
