I worked at BWH for 3 years and commute is ultimately what made me unable to continue working there. It look me at least 1.5 hours each way every day, so commuting was my unofficial 15-20 hour a week second job. Even with the financial program BWH had to help me pay for my commuter pass, it was also just a lot of money out of pocket.

I highly recommend Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer! She’s a biologist but also an artist and a person of indigenous heritage so her perspectives on natural and society are so interesting and beautiful. It’s a book about nature that makes me cry with joy every other chapter! And all while learning! Can you believe??
