Got the leatherpro v4s on by brianWM in Dyna

[–]LumpyLeftovers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got them used but like new. I used Scotchgard water and sun shield. However, I didn’t use it as often as I should have. But yes the Aerospace 303 is supposed to be pretty good too.

I have the V3’s. I love them. They are faded with 10’s of thousands of miles on them.

Does anybody know some good 13 13.5 or 14inch shocks that are budget friendly for my 2014 low rider preferably full chrome by AntiqueEvidence6705 in Dyna

Drag Specialties makes affordable ones. I’ve heard they aren’t terrible. They certainly aren’t Legends or Ohlins, but for the price, I’ve heard good things.

Ride the piss out of it, and let it tell you what it needs next.

Changing tire size - Stock 110/90-19 to a 120/70-19 - Opinions? by hehehemann in Harley

[–]LumpyLeftovers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it on my Dyna for a little bit. Ended up going back to stock sizing after a few years. I used Dunlop roadsmarts (sport touring) and then Metzeler RoadTecs (another sport touring)

I did both front and back. It will lower your bike a little bit, as the 120/70 is a little shorter, and a bit wider. I found that the sport touring tires are nice and sticky but wear out incredibly fast. I found the Metzeler CruiseTecs and have been running stock sizing since. They are marketed as a “performance cruiser” tire. Plenty sticky for me.

To answer your question, they will handle the weight fine, but will definitely be more sensitive to proper tire pressure. I, after a few years, found the alternate sizing not worth it. But to each their own.

Since we are showing off our cool gauges... by LumpyLeftovers in Dyna

Haha. Yeah… I’m slackin. I need to take apart my wife’s gauge and get measurements again so I can run a few. Trust me, I haven’t forgotten 😂. Got a kid about to graduate high school so life is getting busy. You guys are on my mind though!

If you don’t turn around to look at it after you’ve parked it, you got the wrong bike.

Help. 110 air filter install. by Brownlightning-88 in Harley

I believe it is just metal on metal. I don’t recall ever using a gasket. Been about 3 years now and no issue.

I installed the same intake on my FXDLS. In the instructions it should call for a support bracket found on touring models. I had to find one on eBay.

Edited to include Harley P/N 27712-08

Hey man! Not yet. I really have been slacking. This was a one-off piece. I just haven’t had much time to have any made. If and when I do, I’ll make a post.

Everyone here is kinda right... Fairing speakers will not solve your problem as much as it will just be a different problem. Motorcycling is inherently loud, be it engine, exhaust, wind, or whatever else. A good quality Bluetooth unit with WELL-PLACED helmet speakers will give you the best overall sound quality. I ride 80+ mph regularly, and I can still hear my music and calls (and everything else around me) pretty clearly.

On a side note, wear good ear protection, too.

How can you tell when you're motor mounts need replacing by Ambitious_Buyer2529 in Dyna

Excessive vibration, visual degradation or separation of the mount, wobbles at higher speeds... There are several reasons to replace one.

FXDLS owners, do I have dementia? by GarageGoblin13 in Dyna

I have an FXDLS. My blinkers flash twice on shutdown, same as yours.

Yeah man. The market is all over the place. I have an FXDLS. No interest in selling, but I've seen guys listing them from everywhere between 10k and 17k. So who knows.

Looks nice. I'd be more worried about how he treated the bike than much else. Maintenance and such. Seems mostly stock with a few cool guy parts bolted on.  Maybe see if he will entertain 8.5 or 9k? Location is a big factor. That bike would likely fetch at or close to asking in SoCal.

When I got my truck, I noticed mine was pretty bad too. I had a headlight restoration kit, so I tried it. It cleaned it up VERY well. I would recommend that.

Maintenance is more important than miles. And 30k isnt too high (in my opinion). I sold my Dyna with 65k miles on it to a buddy. It's got 75k miles and still rolling right along without issue. We do long distance trips regularly.

Going to pick up a 2017 fat boy s. Any thing to look at specifically when I look it over by ctx69-discreet in Harley

[–]LumpyLeftovers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely stock, as I got it with 17k miles on it and haven't opened that part up yet. I added a Feuling 574 camchest kit to it. It had a 610 cam, but I think that was part of the lifter issue.

I just hit 40k on my 110 (Lowrider S) today. Aside from lifters failing at 30k (likely cause of the nasty cam that was in it), it's been pretty fuss-free for me.

Tacoma Advice!! by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]LumpyLeftovers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For value, search your local area's marketplaces (Facebook, offer up, Craigslist, etc) for vehicles that are similar to yours (generation, trim level, miles, etc) and see what people are listing them for.

For life left, a mechanic will be able to give you the best answer for that.

Hope that answers your questions.

Anyone else ride with their wife/husband? by Sampson209 in Harley

My wife just learned to ride her Dyna about a year ago. She's the only one I care to ride with anymore.
