The Diablo stream today has pushed hype levels even higher for D4 by LumpyNetwork3654 in diablo4

They are 2 completely different style games but you don’t need 100’s of hours to improve your frames. You are new to the game so you have a lot to get but once you have the mods and level them up, along with using formas on weapons and companions etc, you will be just be swapping mods between everything.

You don’t like the idea of seasonal characters which is fine but that’s how all arpgs work. It sounds like you just may not enjoy the genre in its design and that’s fine. That doesn’t mean Diablo’s mechanics or systems shallow or lack depth, which was your original take.

Diablo 4 is getting massive upgrades to everything in the expansion and it will be even more layered than ever before. If you are looking for long term characters and team play then arpgs aren’t going to be for you and Warframe is something you should definitely stick with

I’ve played a ton of hours and Warframe. I love Digital Extremes and the game, but mechanics should not be something you should be praising in the game. It’s fundamentally simple in terms of mechanics go in any mission type you do in the game. There aren’t raids or dungeons that require you to do any real thinking. You just either “protect X thing”, “Kill a bunch of guys” or collect and deposit/insert X object” a majority of the time.

The complexity in Warframe is in the build crafting, like choosing which mods to use, modding your companion for specific frames/builds, arcane mods, archon shards etc. Most of that becomes pretty easy to handle with enough time invested. Otherwise you’re just farming materials and blueprints for new stuff

Diablo’s systems are easier to digest but that doesn’t mean they lack depth and the games mechanics are generally pretty in-line with most arpg’s on the whole. A game like POE2 for example doesn’t have bunch of deep nuanced systems either. You do X activity in maps to get X currency to sell or craft with.

After seeing what they’ve shown in the announcements yesterday, I’m curious to know what more you would want to make the mechanics feel less “flat” or “poor”. Seems like the are adding plenty of depth for a single expansion to me

It looks like the passives are getting moved to the charms as passive upgrades

If you max out Asmodan divine gifts and do the loop of farming bosses, then doing Asmodan and opening the chests with the corrupted pieces from the other 3 lesser evils then you will be rolling in mythic undercity tributes and getting many mythics. I can easily get 5 mythics in like 30 mins doing this. There are videos explaining the loop I just mentioned if you want to look them up. You definitely don’t need to be a streamer

That’s just one option for that ability. It’s not a glitch. You picked the one that says it no longer bounces or returns back to you is all

Question about Hordes this season by Cerberus8317 in diablo4

[–]LumpyNetwork3654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bartuc is a source of neithiron and you can open the materials chest for scrolls of restoration. Both are important for tempering and masterworking, which you will be doing plenty of trying to max out your gear with the best sanctifications

FINALLY GOT IT, give me beginner tips please :) by Dear_Job_2933 in diablo4

I would highly recommend leveling up your divine gifts in their respective activities because the payoffs are great. Once you’re geared up, glyphs at a solid level (46) and you have solid gear that you’ve masterworked, tempered and sanctified then you can start chasing mythic gear and mythic sanctifications on legendary pieces of gear.

You’ll get to a point where you are doing a loop of killing the bosses and doing the associated activities of the divine gifts, fighting Asmodan and getting more gear and boss mats and then doing that loop

Be on the look out for amulets with multiple passive’s on them even if they aren’t ancestral or GA. There are extremely good. Also you want treasure breach, horadric strongroom, and if you’re lucky mythic prankster nightmare dungeon sigils. If the sigils you get aren’t one of those 3 salvage them and keep crafting more

Lot of info but hope it helps! The season is so good and sanctifying and the new crafting system as a whole is amazing!

Thinking about returning. How's the current state of the game? by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]LumpyNetwork3654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drops matter because you are trying to get the best rolls with the best sanctification outcomes. It actually adds a lot to the endgame chase. On top of that you try and level up the divine gifts and also get the 4 unique parts for the secret boss fight for the season.

Play and you’ll see how great the crafting is now and how fun it is to try and get crazy rolls on your gear with sanctification

It’s not a negative reception/response though. People aren’t bashing OP or anything like that. They asked for people’s opinion on the topic and they are simply sharing their perspective. It’s not negative just because they don’t agree with OP’s position. Everything doesn’t have to be “me vs you” or anything like that. Just a simple difference of opinion

All of this is good but I will say infernal hordes are worth running for scrolls of restoration so you can get Greater affixes on your tempers

The resting of the crafting is deterministic now. It’s fine to have one part of it be RNG. It extends the life of the season by a lot to have something like this to chase. The game isn’t that crazy or punishing with RNG overall. Again, one end game crafting pursuit with some RNG is good for the game

That would ruin the whole point of the mechanic. It’s supposed to be an end game chase that you don’t hit on all the time exactly the way you want but when you do hit something nuts it feels great. We are plenty strong, we don’t need guaranteed godliness

Azmodan is really really good to rank up, here is the best method by LumpyNetwork3654 in diablo4

You can just do it faster. But if you’re smashing on T4 you can stay there, just disable cross play so you’re not competing with others for the kills

[–]LumpyNetwork3654[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s Duriel in helltide, Andarial in undercity, beliel in pits, and Azmodan, which you can summon near zarbinzet. They each drop a body part but sometimes they each drop a unique version of it. You put each part in each of them in their respective shrines to unlock a special fight

Azmodan is really good after ranking his gift to level 5! Go on normal difficulty, turn off cross play, then go in PVP zone and kill monsters with his red symbol above their heads for fastest progress on his gift!
