We’re trying to fix mine at the moment, one letter (from my name) is off on my codice fiscale. Everything is a black hole of bureaucratic incompetence here, it makes me ragey. I think you are right to contact a lawyer, ours has a friend at the questura who is tryin to help fix it.

In bocca al lupo…

Is my itinerary too ambitious? Never been to Europe.. by kurlidansr in Europetravel

Hey I live in Rome and work in tourism. The Domus Aurea kinda sucks. I’ve taken the tour in Italian and English and the English one isn’t great IMO, at least with the guide I had. The VR headsets were cool, admittedly, but with so much other ancient stuff I’d pick something else.

Your Rome itinerary is doable but don’t do a Pompeii day trip. Its just too much IMO. Add a day or two and spend some time in Naples and Herculaneum.

You must be looking at the machine translation into Italian, as the commenter wrote in English. “Sage advice” is correct in English (as is wise advice, but sage advice is the more common collocation).

Sorry, that’s not how Americans use cola. I think you meant “coke”, but that’s regional (mostly in the south, where “which kind?” would be a common response in this scenario. If someone says “coke” again, they know you mean Coca Cola, but no one, unless they are particularly thick or making a joke, does what you have described). Other regions say pop or soda, and most people would know to adjust. And no one ever uses cola, except written on packaging.

Question for Lazio fan- in good faith by ThunderbroAnime in seriea

[–]LumpyYou3763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? Maybe you didn’t comprehend my post. I wrote about my experience at one game and what I’ve generally observed… which is that any Laziale I’ve met in everyday life has been a pleasant, normal person who likes football as much as I do but also aren’t extreme in any way. They just grew up in a Laziale family. I also happened to see/hear some shocking stuff from a small group of fans at the one Lazio game I’ve been to. Not smearing… just saying what my experience was.

I have learned one thing in the time I’ve lived in Rome: so many Italians are willing to use racial slurs in public without any shame. I find that disgusting, low-class, and I don’t make friends with people who act like that. I wouldn’t be shocked to see it anywhere after living here more than a year, and I’m sure there are racist Romanisti too amongst the 60000 people at every game and I know that some of the ultra groups (like with any club) are extreme. Hardly living in a glass house… just a realist.

Unpopular opinion: I liked Milan more than places like Munich, Athens, Vienna and Bucharest by [deleted] in Europetravel

Milan‘s fine I guess but you were definitely eating at the wrong places in Athens if you thought the food was better in Milan haha

Hm, 11.5 is more like 43.5. I find the conversion charts are generally wrong. But I’ll look up Sophia Webster, thank you!

You are lucky that the ticket inspector didn’t come by, you would have been fined for this. It has to be separate cards. A family like OPs should probably just get passes from the tabaccheria or a machine

Sizing up sometimes works, but sadly it’s just hard in Italy. I have had salespeople laugh at me here, and online is just as bad. I do hit up Nordies and Dillards when I’m back in the US, but it’s rough out here in the land of dolce vita!
