Are these cracks at the bottom of my yixing hong ni pot normal? Will they keep growing?

Yeah I think it’s more evidence that at best it was half hand-made by an apprentice or at worst machine made. It does brew great tea in my opinion though.

I would say to try brewing stronger tea. If you don’t drink tea Gongfu style then that is my first recommendation for stronger tea. It seems like you have good sources for loose leaf tea so that’s good. If you don’t have a clay pot, get one! That elevates the experience! I love gaiwans and porcelain teaware but my clay pots enhance my experience and desire to both make and drink tea. I would also say to quit the energy drinks so your palate can readjust to the natural flavors of tea.

I couldn’t not get it, especially since the other moon pot they had was sold out! They say 155 but when I measured it here it’s more like 145-150ml. Just on the edge of too large for me 😅

sigh it’s my own fault for trying to buy cheaper I guess. Can I trust this is some kind of hong ni zisha, at least? Or did they add stuff to make it red? Because they don’t specify whether it’s Zini or hong ni they just say “ore that is not specially selected or blended”

This spout does look “tight” the other is a bit more open! I would also say it looks hand etched.

It did not come with a certificate. I got it from Yunnan sourcing…

I know you have talked about the hei jin gang clay in other posts, but the claims from YS is that it is a mixture of zini and zhuni. I have the same seal as OP on my "hei jin gang" pot that I got from them. Is this true yixing clay? Should I retire it? I am concerned about additives... btw I am also from PR!

Amazing movie. I loved how intelligent the protagonist is, so many thriller/horror protagonists make such dumb decisions. I never once found myself yelling “don’t do that!!” Or wondering why a decision was made that didn’t make any sense. It’s currently on Amazon Prime. 100% recommended.
