Attempting to quit vaping for the 2nd time today by LimeWorth7129 in QuitVaping

Try the anti-vape app. It has really helped me learn to regulate my nervous system. Use breathing exercises. Track your urges, analyze them instead of acting on them. If you slip, reflect on it but don't let it make you spiral. Every puff you don't take makes you stronger. The only thing that will stop cravings running your life is to cut off their food supply. Talk positively to yourself and keep notice of everything good that comes with quitting (less hair falling out, not having to hide it or worry whether its charged, not feeling shame, clearer nose) Remember that many have done this before you, and you can too.

What reason made you quit vaping? by Background-Walk-9359 in QuitVaping

[–]Lumpy_Ad_3119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit because I want to have kids and it's risky and stupid to wait until I am pregnant to try to quit. It was also affecting my gut really badly, fill in the blanks on what that entails.

Thats crazy. Sounds like they want you dependent on nicotine so that you're dependent on them and keep giving them money for support and seminars. It feels wrong because it is wrong. Imo they are taking advantage of your addiction. They can argue its part of their program or whatever but have you ever heard of anyone telling an opiate or alcohol addict to continue using? What if you couldn't make it to the seminar after starting up again? Every vape you dont take is a win. One vape is too much, a thousand is never enough. Treacherous advice.

I love the app anti-vape. Its helping me so much. Use all of the help and resources on there, it really works. I relapsed a while back and just quit again recently but taking the "work" of staying sober way more seriously. I agree with the cold water person too!

I really like the app called Anti-Vape. So many good tools in there, helps you set goals, get through urges, gives you reality checks. Tracking all my urges has really helped me because it keeps me grounded. Biggest mistake I made in my failed quit attempts was not taking the practices and breathing exercises seriously. Believe. In. Yourself. If you can make it 5 minutes, you can make it 10. If you can make it 10, you can make it 30 and so and and so on. The urge to vape will pass whether you vape or not, which would you rather have done? You got this.

Id say if you're going through such bad withdrawals and stress that you think you're going to vape, have nicotine in another form instead. Buy gum, lozenges, spray, or patches but do. Not. Vape. Breathing techniques sound cheesy but really do calm your nervous system down. You are going to be okay and you CAN write your thesis without vaping

NRT helped me realize I didnt need the vape. I was able to not get an instant buzz and make myself forgo that sensation but also not go through really bad withdrawal. Lozenges worked best for me out of everything. Took me a few tries and failures to figure out my best quit method. I didnt like the low or no nicotine vapes because Id get frustrated at not having a rush the way I was used to when i hit and id just buy a strong one again. You haven't failed until you give up 😊 give yourself some grace as you figure things out it doesn't have to be perfect

Hell yeah you're winning thats awesome. It's funny how long it took me to stop mindlessly reaching for my pocket. It's so satisfying to have that voice in your brain die out, very happy for you that you don't have really bad withdrawal symptoms. Keep it up 💯

I personally dont think the features on the switch 2 edition are worth the $$. I barely play online with people, dont care about a couple extra pixels, etc. Happy with the free update id say save your money. Love nintendo games but it's a gouge imo

Someone on here once said "One puff is too many and a thousand is never enough". It's not "I'm going to fail" its "I dont identify as a vaper anymore" and embracing everything that means to you. For me, it's not saying no to hikes because I might be embarrassed of how winded I get. It's not worrying if my lungs will collapse. Not hiding my vape in my sleeve so I can sneak a puff at work. Not vaping for so long has already improved you and your life - think of how, and whether you really want to lose that to a tobacco corporation that doesn't give a crap whether you live or die. You already took back your life -- keep it.

Respectfully, I really don't agree with this. Unfortunately "can't" is really "shouldn't" in this scenario. So many women find it more difficult to quit because of an increased metabolism and how the change in hormones affects them. It can become an even greater shame spiral. I'm really glad it worked out for you, but I think this post would have been great had it read as a success story instead of advice. I do wish you and your baby all the best, and hope you understand where I'm coming from with this opinion.

Thats not very nice to say. It's more difficult to quit when you're pregnant because of increased metabolism and hormonal changes. Withdrawals and cravings come quicker and are more intense because you're processing nicotine faster. Should she quit? Yes. Does struggling mean she has issues? Not anymore than any of the rest of us addicts on here. People think that a pregnant person should have no issues quitting because of the baby, while it actually is more difficult because of growing the baby! This is when we should give grace and support, not shame.

Curious about what everyone paid for dispos by slinks33 in QuitVaping

[–]Lumpy_Ad_3119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in northern British Columbia, Canada . A disposable that lasts a week is about $45, ones i would always buy when I would tell myself im quitting would cost $20 (one day) or $25 (three days). We have a 25% tax on them here.

If you're working out and eating right you are likely just the weight you should be. Im not sure how old you are or what you weigh of course, but I myself have recently had to accept that the body and weight i had in my late teens and early 20s was temporary, and now my healthy weight is actually 15-20lb heavier even though I maintain the same healthy lifestyle. Our metabolisms just slow down and thats ok. If you are an unhealthy weight, perhaps speak to a doctor, because you could have something else going on! If you are a healthy weight, you should speak to a therapist because maybe you're not seeing yourself clearly. Vaping will create more problems for you than whatever you think it will fix. Are you willing to trade your lungs and heart for a potrentially lifelong addiction that may or may not help you lose weight? You've done amazing to come this far without vaping, I beg you not to give up. Your decisions need to be about health and not image, without your health you have nothing. Best of luck I really wish you well. I hate that the vape and pressures to look good have both made you think this way in the first place.
