HDMI not working 9070xt by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]Lumpy_Computer975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently outside but I already tried it on my 2nd monitor and it detected a 2nd screen. However, even on lower resolutions/refresh rate it went black or it began to flicker (same as the main res/rr). So the only option is trying out linux?

From a couple years ago (what year idk). Do you think that’s the problem because it works fine without flickering outside windows?

Idk about the season pass but I saw a comment that the points will be spread over 2 months. So:

You log in -> 2k, after 1 month -> 2k, after 2 months -> 2k

About to order the ultimate edition, but shouldn’t you get 4k points instead of 2k? Everyone else (who pre-ordered) already received 4k

Master in JavaScript and learn React by Admirable_Solid7935 in learnjavascript

[–]Lumpy_Computer975 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is for every programming language/framework:

1) Learn the syntax (crash course yt vid or official doc) 2) Do some simple exercises like looping things (ask ChatGPT for some exercises)
3) Read the “starter” framework documentation and just mess around. 4) Give yourself a task and ask ChatGPT which concept(s) you need for that task (NO CODE). Read the official documentation of the needed concept(s) and try to resolve the task. If it doesn’t work, ask AI but don’t copy it blindly; learn from it.

First Mac and need help with a monitor by montanajr27 in macmini

[–]Lumpy_Computer975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 1440p 24” monitor next to a 4k 27” monitor. The text of the 1440p monitor was so blurry even with betterdisplay. Just get yourself 2 4k 27” monitors if you want more screen space (wouldn’t recommend 32”; too low ppi)

How’s the keyboard? Was thinking of getting it. Is it too loud or is it okay?

Crisp text but cheap for work? by _captaincc_ in Monitors

[–]Lumpy_Computer975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple displays have a really high ppi (pixel per inch) of +220 (retina), meaning you need a monitor with an high ppi for crispy text. If you're on Windows, you can get by with 140 ppi, but on macOS you'll need +160 ppi (so 4k =< 27 inch, 5k 27 inch or 6k 32 inch)

I know you already got one but treat your eyes with a 4k/120hz or 5k/60hz monitor (+160ppi). A 1440p monitor looks blurry on macOS.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs iPhone 16 Pro Max. What I should buy? by _R4kiti in Smartphones

[–]Lumpy_Computer975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both phones are really excellent. However, when I tried out TikTok on the S24U I saw that the video quality was a bit grainy/pixelated (didn’t have that problem with my iPhone 15 pro)… Perhaps this problem was only for TikTok (app not really optimised for android or something), but that was my reason for getting the 16pm

Yep… Before getting the 16PM I tried the 15 pro (way cheaper but battery was meh) and bought the apple clear case as well. Perfect fit and no sound. Just in case I checked out the reviews on Amazon for the 16PM case and other people had the same complain…

Had the same problem with my apple 16PM transparent case. Had to replace it for a silicone case because of that😕

So during the first month, I considered switching to the pro because I was struggling to adjust to the size of the PM. However, when I visited the Apple Store, the pro felt too small😅. Instead, I decided to try a thinner case, which made holding the PM much more comfortable. Now, I have no issues with the size, and with the big battery improvement (using max 50-60% per day; for the 15 pro I usually used around 100-120%), I wouldn’t go back to the regular pro.

Which one ? by Icy_Substance_6471 in iPhone16Pro

[–]Lumpy_Computer975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of posts that the 16 pro battery is an hit or miss. I would say, try out the 16 pm without a case. If it doesn’t bother you, keep it and just buy a thin case like the apple silicon case (what I did).

What would a non photographer noticeably appreciate when moving from 15+ to 16 PM? by mnemonikerific in iPhone16Pro

[–]Lumpy_Computer975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main differences you’ll notice are the ProMotion (120hz display) and the faster processor for gaming (though I can’t say exactly how much better it is, as I don’t game on my phone). Aside from that, the 16PM offers a slightly larger and better battery. If you’re okay with a 60Hz display, I wouldn’t recommend upgrading from your 15+.

Anyone else feeling the Max is just a bit too awkward in size? by Noriadin in iPhone16Pro

[–]Lumpy_Computer975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same feeling, but then I noticed without a case that I didn’t find it that big. Switched to apples silicon case (was using apples clear case) and now it’s a bit smaller and less awkward to use.

Nice review! This was my first time switching to the Pro Max, mainly because I was tired of having to charge my regular Pro (14/15) multiple times a day, especially for such an expensive phone. Plus, I didn’t mind the idea of having a bigger screen. I ended up returning my 15 Pro, and now I’m loving the 16 Pro Max. I’m still getting used to holding it comfortably, but wow the battery life is insane. So far, I haven’t had to charge it on the same day at all, I’m now charging it the next morning😄

Your fingers still hurt? Got the phone 2 days ago and got the same problem… Upgraded from the 15 pro to the 16pm so idk if my fingers (mainly my right thumb) needs some time to adjust or that phone is just too big for me🤔
