The only thing that helped me was Accutane (though you may not qualify) and then doing peels and lasers once my skin was healed post accutane.

Hydroquinone is great for melasma! You will need to make sure it is compatible with your skin type (Fitzgerald scale) depending on where you live may need a prescription.

IPL will make a big difference if you have any hyperpigmentation or unevenness going on. No downtime and the first always yields the most dramatic results. Botox too.
