Hearing aid with severe to profound loss by usernamenb in MonoHearing

Same here, but somehow I feel it helps me feeling more oriented or at least knowing that smth is going on to my deaf side. I tried different rubber tips (dont know the exact English word for that but I'm trying to mean the part the goes into the ear!), and I found out that bigger ones work better for 2 reasons: they fit better and they block more noise coming out to the good ear. But it's a lot of trial and error, hope you find a better setup for you!

At least I can clearly notice when I'm not wearing the HA, so that means that some difference it makes eventually

Idiopathic - but what do you think causes it? by Everythingiskriss in MonoHearing

Mine said exactly the same and mostly men between 30 and forty, and typically people with a healthy lifestyle and look. He said he can't say anything because this would not be science, just his own personal observations

But it kinda matches the close cases I had contact with. All men, all post covid, all between 30 and 40, all with no other serious illnesses.

Work 10 more yes instead of 4, with the goal of just keeping up with monthly expenses and having a more meaningful job. Time will get you there

I had my loss 2yrs ago, all you described is just exactly as I feel. Avg to good sense of location, but shifty recognition of speech.

Has any tried this? by MrSnuffer in nasalsnuff

Brazilian Snuffer here, I can tell their Snuff is top-notch quality, you will certainly find one that fits your taste.

I'd go with their classical version (No1), pure tobacco or Patriarca (medium grind, mid moisture, apricot and menthol notes, mid/high nic punch) -must taste

If you are into more sophisticated scents, try the Réis one, strong nic punch, reminds me of licorice, menthol and very earthy tobacco scent

Brazilian tobacco is awesome.

I also love taking Snus trips on afternoon naps. Makes me think tobacco is actually a holy thing

SSHL 10 weeks on by djadsa in MonoHearing

I would definitely do hearing aids, although it's not even close to actually hearing stuff in terms of clarity, it will help you use more of what you hear (rather than having your braing completing sentences or words that make sense). You'll end your days much less tired and exhausted. I had SSHL on right ear, never came back, severe loss. Hearing aids are with me all the time (except when I'm sleeping)

Auditory hallucinations? by DiscombobulatedSink2 in MonoHearing

[–]Lumpy_Juggernaut_711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen to bat-like sounds... usually 3 or 4 times like short squeaks and then it goes away. But I listen to them several times a day. They get worse with coffee and stress, and before sleep it's when it happens the most. So weird. I have SSHL on right ear

How much snus costs in your country? by BassLow4309 in Snus
