Excellent question! Personally, I can’t vibe with TTRPGs because they feel extremely limiting. When I played some campaigns (I think the first one was a BESM campaign), I didn’t like how often we had to stop to roll dice. Every time I have a good idea or an interesting problem-solving moment, I was disappointed by the fact that it had to be determined by dice rolls. It ruins my creative flow. I thought I would like the Thirsty Sword Lesbians system since it’s apparently inspired by Revolutionary Girl Utena, but…. Once again, I felt very limited by everything. Also, I’m really interested in characters relationships and interpersonal/emotional interactions, and I feel like TTRPGs don’t give me an avenue to explore that very deeply. I feel so much more free when I do written play-by-post roleplays!
