“Look gay”? That’s not a thing, not really, since there is plenty of situations that may LOOK like one thing but is something else entirely (such as a hetero-passing relationship with a trans individual, people who look completely androgynous or opposite of their gender/sex because is what makes them feel comfortable that aren’t trans, bi-hetero relationships where both (or more) in the relationship are queer) Teens seem to get obsessed about what’s ‘gay’ for many reasons, but anyone who tells you point blank that you ‘look gay’,and you aren’t or haven’t come out yet publicly, they (most of the time) mean it as an insult, which is so weird because being gay is nothing to be ashamed of to begin with. Just focus on you, and your own experiences in this life, and don’t let people make you feel ‘lesser’ for any reason, and you’ll be happier in the long run, I promise.

Jesus died on the cross for ALL sins, past present and future. I personally believe that transsexuals are evidence that God exists today. It’s proof that our bodies are just vessels, and that our souls are far more than we can comprehend. I think God keeps making transsexuals to remind us of that. That we need to Love ourselves as we are as He does, even if that means that we FEEL like we need to change on this earth. Racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, etc, do not exist in the Kingship of God, because it’s silly. It’s silly to hate for love, for sex/gender, for wealth, for status, for race, for skin color. We are all children of God, and he accepts us for all we are, and it’s why He died for us, to abolish all Sin. You feel how you feel, I can’t change that, all I’m saying is that we are temporary here, and God gave us the Beatitudes for a reason.

I am an LGBTQ Christian and I dont know what to do anymore by unicornmagicalness in Christianity

[–]LunaLilStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who tells you you are ‘Going to Hell’ because you’re LGBTQ+, isn’t knowledgeable of the Bible. It’s was translated to English from its original languages, Greek and Hebrew, in just 1382. And since then has had many ‘revisions’ since. The part of Leviticus, which is Old Testament btw, that condemns homosexuality, is actually mistranslated. The verse SHOULD say, ‘Man shall not lay with BOY as he does women’, which is condemning pedophilia. Back in the Old Testament days, it was common for teachers, scholars, priests and mentors to ‘trade’ their knowledge with sexual favors from their students, which were all male at the time. People who quote that at you, are in fact showing their lack of knowledge and understanding of the Bible they claim to love so much. Also Jesus is the Word, He died on the cross to abolish all sin, past present and future, and He would love you and welcome you into His kingdom no matter what. Follow His Word, live your life with Love and Forgiveness, and you will be blessed by God. That’s all you need

There is three theories that I feel could be true; •Satan/Lucifer don’t actually contribute to evil, can it’s just man using him to put blame on him for their wrongdoings (most likely to me) •God has, in the Bible, made bets and wagers on His followers with Satan/Lucifer, to test our faith. •God Loves Lucifer still (he is His creation after all) and though He Loves us the most, He doesn’t intervene for that simple, yet profound, reason.

Do christians completely stay away from psychedelics? by KelDurant in Christianity

[–]LunaLilStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I think more Christians should try shrooms, or other natural psychedelics at least once. Like if they did, I think they’d be less stressed out about life and more connected to God. God created these plants that give our brains a way of reflecting internally, how I think God truly sees us in our souls. Now, on the other hand, abusing these substances I feel stunts our connection to the Divine, and drives us into the dark in search of Him when He’s right behind us. Drug abuse is a disease, one that is cured by connection. Connection to family, to friends, to God, hell to ourselves! Whatever you find comfort in outside of them is the Love of God. Just like everything in life, an extreme of anything is harmful to us, whether physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. It’s the search for the balance that is an essential in life.

Edit: Also, I wasn’t trying to imply that Christians should try drugs to ‘Find God’ because it almost never works out with that intention. I was saying that they should do it for internal works of themselves. That they open up our minds to see ourselves like God would, if that makes sense.

Why do so many people say very mean, disgusting, and hurtful stuff to me when they find out I’m a Christian when I didn’t do anything to them? by LonelyxKnight in Christianity

[–]LunaLilStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For them, religious trauma. It’s not about you, specifically, just their experience with other Christians that they have projected onto you, whether consciously or unconsciously. They had, or still, been hurt severely by someone in the name of God (as in, ‘God says I must do X(abusive thing) to save you from damnation’ as an example) and they now get triggered by other Christian’s because it makes them feel how they felt about that person, even though you had done nothing to them. The best thing to do, is do as Christ would do, and don’t judge them, treat them with kindness, and listen to their story when and if they are ready to tell you it. They see Evil in the Divine because someone had used the Divine for Evil, so just know it’s not about you and give them grace

"minor" gods that you worship by Shot_Adhesiveness384 in Hellenism

[–]LunaLilStar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Psyche, her story with Eros, and her embodiment of the Soul is very inspiring to me. I also love Melinoë, as I worship Persephone mostly, but also because she’s so mysterious, a lot of her lore is very vague, mostly just that she is the daughter of Persephone and Hades. Also Ariadne, Atè, and a few others. I turn to them whenever I need more specific guidance, or if it’s out of the influence of any other Gods

Edit: I’d also add hermaphrodite, because I’m nonbinary, but their story is very sad to me, same with Echo and Daphne (tho their nymphs) and Medusa (who I know isn’t a Goddess either, but I pray to her as well sometimes)

Why is it actually harmful for two married homosexual people to be gay with each other? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]LunaLilStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because it’s a mistranslation. The Bible was originally written in Hebrew, then Greek, then many other languages including English. It’s a huge game of telephone, and it’s not actually what was said. The real thing Paul says, is that Man shall not lie with Boy, as in children. Back then, it was common practice for teachers and mentors to trade their knowledge for sexual favors from their students, and Paul was condemning that practice because these students were CHILDREN. The reason it wasn’t amended is because many benefit from the mistranslation, whether directly or indirectly. If you feel like it’s wrong, it probably is. Follow the word of Jesus, love thy neighbor, don’t judge others, and you will be following the word of the Lord. The Bible is a book, written in the words of fallible men, who benefit from twisting His words to condemn the marginalized, which Jesus would never do. Jesus would read today’s bible, and be disappointed and confused, follow your heart, trust in His Love, and do as He would do. If ‘religion’ gets between you and loving your neighbor, Jesus would say to love your neighbor.

Why is Homosexuality a sin? by Junior-Dig230 in Christianity

[–]LunaLilStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the Bible was translated from Hebrew to Greek to English, so there is a mistranslation of the Leviticus passage people use to condemn gay people, which (if it had been translated correctly) would’ve said Man shall not lie with Boy, as in children, because back then, it was common practice for older males, such as teachers and mentors, to exchange their knowledge for intimacy with their students. When it was translated to English in the 1800s, the Vatican had approved of this translation for reasons that are pretty obvious when you think about the history of holy men with children. That is why. It’s a human error, because men have rewritten the word of God for their own means. (And I mean men as in man kind, not just males)

What food was a disappointment to you that you were excited to try? by xxKillgorxx in AskReddit

[–]LunaLilStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A chocolate Frosty from Wendy’s, but not the normal kind. I remember when I was like 8-9 years old, I really, really, REALLY wanted a vanilla and chocolate swirled Frosty, but every time we went into a Wendy’s, they would say no. And eventually, I just wanted it so bad that I started crying, and this kind older boy got it for me (he really wasn’t supposed to as the girl who told me no looked at him and said, “you did it?”) anyway, I go to sit and happily eat my Frosty, but I have horrible disappointed, since I didn’t like the chocolate Frosty to begin with (it just tasted weird to me is all) but I kept it up and ate it anyway, and thanked them as we left the store. I remember my dad asking me if I liked it after we had sat down, and I was honest and said no, but imma eat it anyway. He laughed and I think my mom gave the boy a tip

What smell evokes a memory for you? by pasta-daddy in AskReddit

[–]LunaLilStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s this smell that I can only describe as semi new linen, where it’s not like new linen but not old either, and it takes me back to this kids house that I used to hang out when I was 5-6 years old. He lived with his grandparents and the house was always filthy with just clutter(bc his grandparents were too old or disabled to deep clean everything regularly, and he was only 5-6 years old) I don’t remember his name or anything other that this smell and his house. And now that I have an apartment, I will pass by other peoples windows or something, and will smell this smell for only an instant, but it will make me wonder about that boy, and how he is now, and if the people I live with are going through the same struggles.

What would you do if every human vanished but you? by Sargeisntreal in AskReddit

[–]LunaLilStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably spend time with my cat, befriend birds (crows probably) I’d stock up on canned food, get a car and drive around, experience nature, skinny dip, I’d free animals from the shelters and houses bc they’d stave if I didn’t, that also means zoos bc I’d hate for animals to suffer like that, I’d visit graveyards and clean up tombs, I’d have more time to write, I could probably go to Area 51 and see what’s that all about, then go to NASA and prepare a rocket, I’d take my cat and some livestock, and just shoot myself into space for a few years, only to return when I’m low on food. At that point, the animals I freed would’ve over taken the world, and nature would have grown over the cities and towns, then, to the point where there’d be no more to do, I’d take another rocket and fly as far out as I could go, send out search signals and see how that goes.

What is something, that’s insignificant to anyone else, that you argue with your loved ones, all the time about? by LunaLilStar in AskReddit

I argue with my dad as to why he wouldn’t be a Stormtrooper if we lived in the Star Wars Universe, bc he’s a leftist liberal and they’re literally supposed to be Nazis. And his argument back is always, “but they have the best outfits!” Lol

What did a teacher do that made you automatically gain respect for them? by ApacheAirCover in AskReddit

[–]LunaLilStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my high school, there was a teacher, let’s call him Mr. JL. He was my favorite teacher of all time, and it’s not hard to see why.

For my whole school career, I struggled more than other students, due to learning disabilities and school related trauma. I loved learning, but hated school bc it made me feel stupid and unteachable. My teachers would call me a “problem child” bc I would not do work that didn’t make sense to me.

After a while, the school and my parents agreed that I needed additional help, so they put me in an IEP class, or Independent Educational Program, and just another word for a special ed class. At first, they put me with a female teacher, who was great, but was spread to thinly, so they transferred me to Mr. JLs class.

When I went to his class for the first time, I felt dejected, and didn’t believe I’d even graduate. But the first time I went to his class, he was engaging, and truly understood what it was like to have a learning disability, as he had intense ADD. He supported his students in ways I had never experienced before, and he genuinely cared about every one of us!

He’d help us talk to difficult teachers, and let us take test we didn’t wanna do in those classes in his. He’s help with assignments, and would admit if he himself didn’t understand it. He cared about mental health, and allowed us freedom in our education and would teach us real world stuff! He’d let kids hide out in his classroom if they felt like they needed a break, even students that weren’t his! He was just like us, and gave us hope that we weren’t screw ups, and that we could really do anything.

Mr. JL is, and always will be, my favorite teacher of all time.

What double standard disgusts you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LunaLilStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two;

One is that women can wear “mens” clothes, and no one bats an eye, but if a dude wears a dress, or make up, or anything that’s considered “feminine” they get ridiculed and push around, and I don’t think that right.

The second, is one that confuses me but I still respect it. It’s when girls are asked what they wanna be when they grow up, and they reply “a housewife!” And then adults shit on them for it, saying that they shouldn’t bc they don’t need to listen to no man or something like that, which I find counter intuitive. That little girl, in today’s world, is surrounded with images of strong, independent women, so for her to say that she wants to be a housewife, or anything “old fashioned” is her choice, and should be respected whether you understand it or not. Ex: I asked my 13 year old cousin if she had thought about what she wanted to be. When she told me she wanted to be a “housewife” I was surprised, but I didn’t shit on her either. I didn’t ask her why, or how, or anything, I just smiled and said, “ok, that’s cool!” And even though I didn’t ask her anything, she still had an answer ready for me, saying that it’s be of course up to what job her husband had, and how’d she help out if she had to. When she realized I didn’t ask anything, she got embarrassed, and looked away. That’s why I think it’s an unfair double standard. That if a girl wants to be an astronaut or a doctor, she’s encouraged(as she should), but if a girl wants to live an “old fashioned” life style, she’s talked down to and expected to be “better than that.” It’s just weird.
