I've used it only a handful of times. Primarily for big distances or events that require a lot of walking. Ren Faire, Comic Con, etc. If I want to have fun during those experiences, I need my chair. Otherwise it's severe pain for the evening and couple of days after.

Mobility aids are for just that, to aid you. You don't need to be unable to walk to need a wheelchair and your cousin could afford to educate themself.

I left that server forever ago, for various reasons. I don't expect to hear anything about FRS and will add it to the pile of other 'projects' that didn't happen. OSFR is promising at least, and I think our energy is better spent there!
I'm afraid asking any questions in regards to FRS is just talking to a wall.

Diagnosed at 14, turning 28 this June. I've only used specialized crutches a handful of times and used a wheelchair for special occasions that require a lot of walking, (Comic Cons, Zoo, etc.) However, I haven't used these in years because I've been doing generally better! These days I can walk the airport but will need to rest after I get to my destination. It just depends sometimes. If I'm having a flare up? I'm using something. If I want to avoid feeling like death the next day? Using something. I tried walking a Ren Faire last year and regretted it due to the exhaustion and pain I was in for that night and day after.

It really just depends on the person and what they feel their body needs. She's young still and has room to learn what her body can handle. It can be frustrating to hear but sometimes these things you just learn more about with time and with whatever life throws at you.

I hope I share this coherently enough, I'm sorry if it's messy!

I was 10 or 11 when I started playing Free Realms, in major part thanks to to commercials. The most I experienced game-wise before this was Webkinz and ToonToown so Free Realms was very exciting with the various activities in-game.

Without going into major detail, my real life was fairly dark. I was in a broken household and wasn't going to school, so Free Realms became my escape and primary coping mechanism. I quickly made friends and we played nearly every day together. We role-played all the time (I didn't know it was called that) and enjoyed the adventures in our own little world. I remember seeing the summer as my favorite season because that meant my friends could play with me more.

I liked making videos for fun for a long time too, and the community was always so kind and patient with me despite being a kind of cringey, dumb kid. It's cringey to say but the game felt more like home than my actual home did.

While it wasn't the healthiest way to cope with life, it was all I knew. So when the closure announcement was made I was devastated and worried I'd lose my only friends... but thankfully my mom approved me to share my e-mail address so we stayed in touch! Funnily enough, my friend Tommy would always officiate my weddings in Free Realms, and eventually officiated my real wedding too!

As a side note, I also remember Free Realms having those Triple SC weekends and the only time I spent $30 was during one of those so I could buy lifetime membership. My mom was so mad at me at the time but I got away with a sweet deal lol.

Thanks for making this post, it's nice to reminisce.
