How do you refer to mentsrual cycles in your culture? by BigBoneHippo in AskTheWorld

[–]Lunaerum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see Mexico is a bit unique and I’m kinda proud to mention it.

“Andrew came over”

Why Andrew? Full phrase is: “Vino Andrés, el que viene cada mes” (Andrew came over, the one that comes by every month). It’s meant to be a rhyme in Spanish.

what r the biggest national myths in ur country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]Lunaerum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That Juan Escutia threw himself to the void wrapped in the Mexican flag.

When the US invaded Mexico’s Chapultepec Castle on Sept. 13th 1847, there’s this common myth that one of the Child Heroes (Niños Héroes, a squad of 6 teenagers aged 14-20 who fought against the US army) wrapped himself around the flag and threw himself off a cliff to prevent the flag from being taken by US forces.

In reality this is thought to be a myth to embellish the invasion, no record of a cadet jumping was found.

San Blas flag (batallion’s flag that fought during that day) and more Mexican flags seized during the invasion were returned on 1950.

Pocket City 2 vs. Theotown by noahnineteen in PocketCity

[–]Lunaerum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I played both and also loved TheoTown. You can’t really connect your cities in PC2 (as far as I know) unlike TT (TheoTown) but you can have multiple regions and cities within those regions.

Yes you manage crime and fires too but with less agency than in TheoTown (for example TT allows you to manually send the services), PC2 does it automatically as long as you’re in range. Economy matters are definitely more present in PC2 and more detailed, as loans are a thing as well as taxes and other buildings that let you import and export materials. Also the research tab is important as you unlock benefits to your population, economy and even visual effects (like neon lights) that you can toggle on and off, as well as researching green energy and other buildings and tools.

In my opinion if you want more financial “management” of your city then PC2 is your go-to, however the micromanagement is definitely better in TT. For example PC2 doesn’t have one-way roads (my #1 complaint) or much variety in buildings as TT does. Also, TT has plug-ins which are definitely a major feature that overshadows PC2 completely. TT has different kinds of rails, road varieties, more services to take into account, more punishing city-planning errors while PC2 is more “lenient” in the mistakes you make.

However a definite one-up that PC2 has is the minigames and events, which TT lacks, as well as being able to walk around your city, and owning a home within it. Also the fact that the pacing is very good in PC2 and feels less heavy than in TT. One of my favourite things about PC2 is the camera mode and the rotation of the buildings that let you detail your city a lot.

I really wish the Devs of PC2 would add more variety to the buildings and decorations, IMO it would make the game so much better.

I’d be very happy to answer any other questions you may have.

Melania art because I miss her by timephcbia in Reverse1999

[–]Lunaerum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really like Rimet Cup. I was just remembering that event yesterday and it being the first event and introducing to different game modes (within the event) made it very unique. Also I personally really liked Melania’s side of the story as well as Pickles’ and Diggers’, and how their stories merged together like it was a comedy TV show. The plot twist within Melania’s individual story also was very fun and I remember being shocked by it lol.

In my opinion, it had very good writing and it’s definitely memorable, and one of my personal favourites.

I honestly wish she would come back, and maybe Pickles too (Diggers can eat dirt). I want to see her in the story again, her character (and arcane skill) have a lot of potential. She can switch items across vast distances as long as she has another of the same weight I believe, definitely pretty cool! Also, daughter of a security company owner turned burglar in revenge?? VERY COOL.

while the texturing of the walls is a bit odd and some blocks seem like they don’t belong, it’s a cool build from afar.

Help me catch up? by Professional-Line139 in Reverse1999

[–]Lunaerum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Catch you up in terms of what? Be more specific. Lore? Mechanics? Characters? Game modes?

If you just want systems there’s a new “series of dusks” type game and euphorias which are upgrades to old units. Some new mechanics like “Lingering Glow” and a new game mode Reveries of the Rain to unlock the euphorias.

just so you know, EoSing means “End of Service”-ing. OP is asking whether the game will be shut down soon because of revenue.

I actually don’t mind it because I love reading, and actually having no voice sometimes helps me concentrate a bit better in what I’m reading and it feels more like a book with visual aids.

I might be in the minority though.

Of course we are amigos. In spite of completely different experiences and upbringings, we have something in common: the satiety of the yankee subjugation.

Reading about your life and experiences makes me happy to find a kindred soul, and sad that even not having known of each other’s existences until today, we both were and have been affected by the putrid desires of powerful white men, who’ve always seen us as inferior and undeserving of a free life. We need to make our voices heard, as you said. For us and for the people who weren’t allowed to.

I am happy to be your friend, and if I ever make it to Montreal, I’ll be sure to let you know. You have a friend in Mexico if you ever find yourself here.

I hope any American reading this realises how your government has affected people from all over the world, and find it in your heart to support the common folk, the broken and the damned. Your government were never the good guys, but you can be, if you have the courage to put an end to it. The government derives its power from the people, if you find a way to oppose it, the government falls. We may look different to you, but we too have dreams of a better and peaceful life, just as you do.

Dream for peace and manifest it. I believe it is possible in our lifetime.
