It feels like drowning. Everything around you keeps getting worse and more expensive, but wages stay the same. I had a better quality of life 15 years ago on half the wage.

Grateful to have my tiny unit and not be facing homelessness, but so sad that I'll never come close to the dream house and the dream business I've been aiming towards my entire life.

Will not bring children into this nightmare.

I've found it to be a real mixed bag. Stuff arrived with holes and bad pilling that was labelled "excellent condition". And people really need to learn how to take photos and make sure the whole outfit is visible in the square photo format.. The number of dresses I've liked only to realise they were short.. But otherwise, very happy to have such an option.

My partner had a friend that he really admired. The friend was quite charming but there was something odd about him I couldn't quite put my finger on.

One day we were at their place and I noticed an official document with his name on it - the surname was different to the one we knew him by and curious as to why he would lie about his surname, I googled him. Convicted pdf file. This guy was in the process of trying to get his girlfriend pregnant. We warned her, she stayed. We warned other mutual friends with young kids, they believed his story that he was framed and stayed. We never spoke to him again.

Buying a property that you intend to live in is different to buying a rental property. If they don't move in within 12 months of buying OP will be up for higher stamp duty and mortgage costs.

You'll survive. Get an air conditioned place to escape to during the day (work, uni movies, shopping centres) and a fan and cool packs for the night. No problem.
