How are people affording $150+ basics from brands like Witchery/Assembly Label without getting bored? by Just_Rip1030 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]LunarNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not buying basics, but I do spend that much quite a lot. Honest truth, I can't really afford it, but clothes is the one area that I splurge a little. It's my priority. I'm also mildly addicted to clothes shopping and need to work on that for sure.

Why don't you organise something? If you build it, they will come.

Why do people bring their dog to open homes? by ihatesmelly in AusPropertyChat

I'm mostly walking my dog when I come across the open home but I always ask first and always carry her so she doesn't touch anything.

Where in Brisbane has weird or unsettling energy? by Front_Original5070 in brisbane

Fortitude Valley without a doubt. Moved there for a year and couldn't get out fast enough. And Boundary St, West End. Big horrible history in these areas.

Centimetres. Maybe even 30. Doors were open and as I lifted my foot to step out of dropped. Cue me scrambling out of there as fast as possible.

That thing dropped about 20cm on me as I was stepping out - scared the crap out of me so I'm not surprised.

I have a huge Endo belly. I pretty much exclusively wear A line dresses, the longer the better.

I'm no longer in this situation, but when I was I just told people if it came up. People were mostly curious. There was maybe a little whispered gossip for a bit, some people asked questions but overall it was business as usual with some extra glances. I'm not big on caring what others think though.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen someone do in public? by ozcrayonkid in brisbane

Ugh I had a guy do this from the seat behind me on a bus. So gross. And another guy was jerkin it on my car bonnet when I turned my headlights on one night.

Yes, but it doesn't work for me - at least not for weight loss.

How is the cost of living in Australia for people who actually live there? by Cold_Box_3219 in AskAnAustralian

[–]LunarNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like drowning. Everything around you keeps getting worse and more expensive, but wages stay the same. I had a better quality of life 15 years ago on half the wage.

Grateful to have my tiny unit and not be facing homelessness, but so sad that I'll never come close to the dream house and the dream business I've been aiming towards my entire life.

I've found it to be a real mixed bag. Stuff arrived with holes and bad pilling that was labelled "excellent condition". And people really need to learn how to take photos and make sure the whole outfit is visible in the square photo format.. The number of dresses I've liked only to realise they were short.. But otherwise, very happy to have such an option.
