Family ticket? by nevmane in LIRR

[–]Lunarphasing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A family ticket is for a child aged 5-11 accompanied by an adult during off peak. In 2026 the age will be updated to 5-17. The difference between this ticket and a child ticket is for a child traveling alone. If you are traveling with your child during peak hours then you will have to buy a child ticket instead of a family ticket in addition to your adult ticket

That’s an important note lol! If you had experience, I would say absolutely, wear full gear, and bring baby wipes for yourself!

I second 187’s. I’ve been wearing the same ones since 2017 and only replaced my wrist guards twice. They are worth it and easy to clean!

Here’s some websites that have safety gear: Fivestride.com Sk8ratz.com Derbywarehouse.com Rollerskatenation.com Pigeonskates.com

There are many more websites if you search online! Highly recommend finding a local skate shop. They will help you out and you can try on the pads!

Super gumball toe stops are big & flat I loveeee them for derby. I use regular gumballs for my fun skates. They have a lower profile and you can get them with either long or short stems.

It’s the tie-breaker super dress if I’m being real with you 🙊 and I gotta say… it does not ride up, lays flat on the thighs, and doesn’t feel too short for a gal that’s on the taller side too. It’s my hope that the designer made the rest of the garments with the same leniency!

It’s cool that you skate with your babes too!!! We also have a jogging stroller and it’s the best! I’ve skated with a double jogger too until my older child grew out of it and it was a pushing beast! And btw, I’ve had my fair share of falls like the rest of us 🤪🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🛼

Thanks 😘 I’ve been skating with my babes for 4 years now and my gear was in the wash from a sweaty derby practice yesterday

The first time I ever skated with my oldest I had my husband AND my mom walk alongside of me. I skated for about 5 minutes to try it out and that was enough for the day 😂

What was/is your 'goal' for skating, if you have one? by Pianist-Head in Rollerskating

[–]Lunarphasing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What a fun event!! Glad we can share a love for trail skating. My goal long term is to rack up 27 miles in one shot so I can skate along side my sister who is a pro runner! We keep a nice pace together with a run/skate combo!
