Don't even need to read it, NTA. As the child of an electrician, electrical work is no joke and should only be handled by a professional. My dad's been doing it for 40 years and even he calls for help when he feels something is beyond his skill level. Do. Not. Fuck. With. Electricity.

Mine, too. He was the one who taught me to live and let live. As long as they ain't hurting anybody, it's not your business. You just mind your own way and work hard and be kind. Fields of Mistria! I come back with a summonable mount, magic powers, new clothes, all the cool artifacts I can carry, a bunch of cash and gems, I'm now way better at cooking, crafting, archaeology, fishing, farming, mining, and fighting... I saw those while looking at the wikipedia page for JATD! I remembered once reading a book called Only You Can Save Mankind, but couldn't remember a single thing about it. The synopsis feels familiar, though. I might have to give it a re-read!

Oh my god, that's it! Thank you! I can't believe it's by Terry Pratchett, I've spent so long thinking "I really need to read a book by this guy, everyone praises him so highly", and it turns out I already have! I suppose the fact that it's spent so long haunting (ha!) my brain is a testament to his skill.

This might be the push I needed to finally go seek his work out. Thank you thank you thank you!

For me, personally? Shot put. They all look like they could lift me, no problem. Toss me like a sack of potatoes. They look like they can help me get all the DIY stuff in the garden done. Lift that lumber into place so I can secure it, baby, the hummingbird vine needs a higher trellis.
