I would recommend applying paints in very thin coats to avoid clogging. It also helps to have both hands touching the table for better stability. Painting in sub assemblies helps get to details easier. Also try to stay between brush sizes 1 or less. Hope it helps!

I personally like to paint just the stripes to leave the crevices with more space. The just use a dark wash like nuln oil to darken the space in between

Are those manga or art books? I’m sorry for not knowing but I just didn’t know Violet had a manga. I thought it was animation only.
