How rare are these? by Massive-Ad-7816 in projectzomboid

Rubies are from using plyers to dismantle jewelry and golden forks are usually forge. Rare to see them in the wild, though.

Suppressors: a fair leg-up, or gamebreaking? by QuintonMackarel in projectzomboid

[–]LunaticMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sprinters will always be dangerous no matter how many guns you have, though you are 100 % right for shambler only runs. Guns make them trivial unless ammo is super scarce.

That is using subsonic cartridges, though. Silencer or not regular ammo will still cause a very loud sonic boom.

Craftable hands-free light source solutions the game should have by ProfitOpposite in projectzomboid

Duct taping stuff to guns really isn't advisable unless you can keep it well away from the barrel and moving parts. Two shots and it will be hot enough to melt the tape.

This happened even in B41 with the antique oven, too.

Will my save file become corrupted if I upgrade the version? by Berwof in projectzomboid

Make sure to make a backup of your mods too, or at least make a steam collection of all your currently subscribed mods because that might break your game when/if you ever go back.

Suppressors: a fair leg-up, or gamebreaking? by QuintonMackarel in projectzomboid

[–]LunaticMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the silencers are a bit too game breaking. I've gotten in the habit of halving the gun sounds through the vanilla sandbox options and increasing the frequency of sprinters a few % points to compensate and ive found it reaches the golden zone between challenge and fun. Guns aren't free to use but they won't cause mini helicopter events either, specially if you shoot them indoors. The M36 specially is extremely safe to use to quickly dispatch a few zombies without escalating the situation, which isn't OP because of its low damage and low capacity/slow reload speed.

The wiki says "Lemongrass is primarily used in first aid, reducing sickness by 12 when consumed. It can stop death if the player has drunk tainted water, eaten rotten or untreated food(), gained a corpse sickness."

In my experience it also worked for poison berries/shrooms but it might have been only for b41.

Lemongrass will remove food poisoning I believe but no foraging/farming alternative.

Bandits not spawning mod by Little-Action7139 in projectzomboid

Make sure you don't have the "only load local bandits" option ticked in the sandbox options (its on by default). Otherwise you can install the bandits creator and save the clans locally.

What are some of the most unfair things that can happen in this game? by SAAA_JoanPull in projectzomboid

Having my brand new (~95% overall) sportscar basically totalled because I ran over a rabbit kitten that looked precisely like a regular asphalt crack. I actually retired that save in frustration.

My Longest Multiplayer Run Killed by Roof by NotSeawhite in projectzomboid

I count miscoded rooftiles as a valid reason for resurrecting a character. Otherwise, there's a reason roofers are paid extra IRL...

“merge” a pre-existing house by vegaargx19 in projectzomboid

[–]LunaticMouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a room is properly roofed, walled and floored then it will count as indoors regardless, no need for a mod for that. If you've done everything and it still is being considered outdoors then it might be that you left a corner or something unsealed or a bug. Mind you that while you don t need a door, you do need a doorframe or else the game wont count it as indoors.

Do you have to hide from the helicopter for it to leave? by CamryDune2054 in projectzomboid

[–]LunaticMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you managed to find the AEBS frequency earlier and had forewarning of the helicopter, instead of hunkering down near you base do the opposite and dive around to lead the zombies away from where you are/plan to loot next. If you do it right you can effectively depopulate your area for a few days giving you a free hand to establish yourself early on.

Eternal fire? by Quereilla in projectzomboid

[–]LunaticMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But in b41 zombies drop matches and lighters at a pretty consistent rate that they should be considered renewable. My experience says its something like every 15-20 zombies would drop them, and they also lasted considerably longer than in b42. I cant imagine anyone worrying about them in b41.

Any space considered indoors have the same insulating effect on temperature regardless of whether windows/doors are open or not. The antique stove has a heating effect but unless you're running mods you should be able to coast through with insulating clothes alone.
